Instructions Not Included is primarily in Spanish with English subtitles, though some scenes are played in English -- is a blend of very funny and very sad.
Valentin is Acapulco's resident playboy - until a former fling leaves a baby on his doorstep and takes off without a trace. Valentin leaves Mexico for Los Angeles to find the baby's mother, but only ends up finding a new home for himself and his newfound daughter, Maggie. An unlikely father figure, Valentin raises Maggie for six years giving his daughter the life he thinks she needs, while also establishing himself as one of Hollywood's top stuntmen to p*y the bills, with Maggie acting as his on-set coach. As Valentin raises Maggie, she forces him to grow up too. But their unique and offbeat family is threatened when Maggie's birth mom shows up out of the blue, and Valentin realizes he's in danger of losing his daughter- and his best friend. Then comes to the most surprising ending, which as the culmination of a dragging third act is so couched in melodrama that the viewer would be totally justified in not seeing it coming.

Re: Instructions Not Included
Considering this has been one of the most successful foreign language films released in the states i would have thought this would have had a major release over here
Re: Instructions Not Included
Saw this the other day. Some nice moments, some of the humour wasn't quite to my taste, but the ending was touching. 6/10.
