Yes, it took me a very long time, to find a supplier that sold sofas as flat pack and then make them up for you at a good value price! I am very happy with my sofas, still looking good after 5 years. I also went for a cream colour but in fabric, texture with a criss cross weave effect, soft to touch. I b*ght a 3 seater and a 2 seater, and they look fab. Hope the tubes are running again, long enough, to let you get there and see the ones you want.valda wrote:Thanks for all the advice, I wasn't going to go for a shiny dark one, but was thinking of a cream or beige colour. PXC, that's interesting that you b*ght from them! I'm in the same boat, narrow stairs and doors, and a tiny roomI heard they were heavy pieces of furniture, but I would only need to move to clean as there is no where else in the room where the sofa could go.
I'm still trying to get to the showroom, but the tubes seem to be down every weekend![]()

Re: The Diary Room
Can anyone tell me if they have had more John Lewis coffee and cake vouchers sent to them after their initial 6 months of vouchers have ended?
I have only April left to use and if they don't issue more I was going to sign up in my husband's name to get another 6 months.

My last one is for March and I haven't been sent anymore. I do shop there but they don't ever ask for my card to scan.biggins wrote:Can anyone tell me if they have had more John Lewis coffee and cake vouchers sent to them after their initial 6 months of vouchers have ended?

I never wait for them to ask for the card I just hand it over when I am p*ying for any goods (not when using the vouchers) and they scan it for the points.

Re: The Diary Room
I was just wondering the same about the drink + cake vouchers! As these were advertised as one of the attractions of signing up, I rather thought (and hoped, obviously!) that they would be a permanent feature. Maybe they sent only 6 months' worth initially to gauge the level of take-up - though they haven't withdrawn the "free hot drink and paper daily" offer with the MyWaitrose card, yet the demand has clearly been too much in some ways: lots of broken drinks machines and shortage of newspapers.
As for using the card when b*ying things, I too always proffer it as I've never been asked. No sign yet of anything as a result, e.g the tailored offers which I think were mentioned, but it's early days yet and I've only had my card since late Autumn, and I must have been one of the first to sign up.

See, I wouldn't go out of my way for free cake, but I went all the way to Lewisham's Sainsbury's today for a free book with The Telegraph. Never mind that I still have about 20 unread books at home...

Re: The Diary Room
I'm two-timing JL's cake today with some from a different source. Had very little sleep last night as I was late home from the theatre, but the forecast for today was so good that I was determined not to waste the opportunity to walk. So I've compromised by not doing a full day (it felt like it, though, what with the hills and the mud!) and am back having my afternoon tea at home instead.

Re: The Diary Room
We have a supplier in Ukraine, this is what she has told us today:
The air is charged with spell of war here, so it feels like bombs can blow at any minute. I don't believe that it could be resolved in a peaceful way any more. Putin will not step back. We all are on the edge of a new global war. The UK will also be involved because of signed international agreements with Ukraine in 1996.
Be prepared for the worst.
