Pretty much 1 hour. This was terrible and really couldn't see myself stuck there for another 80 minutes.

Re: Divergent
I'm with Celine, I left as well. I had a headache, and wasn't at all interested in the film. Nothing hooked me in like Hunger Games or even Twiglet. I have the book on my KIndle as it was only £250 vx

Re: Divergent
You guys are crazy! I absolutely LOVED this film and actually seriously contemplated seeing it again with the other screening this week (and I haven't felt this kind of enthusiasm for a film in a long time, Frozen was probably the last one I loved this much). A near perfect adaptation of the book (from what I remember, I read a proof before it even originally came out years ago) with a great story, good characters, some emotional scenes and decent action sequences too. Also, Theo James is HOT *fans self*
I agree with a previous commenter that the lead looks weak, but there's an evolution throughout the story in which she gradually becomes stronger which I find makes it more believable rather than that someone from Abnegation - growing up sober, under the radar and never p*ying much attention to herself - being a super strong person straight from the get go.
This film definitely saved my Sunday after the far more subpar Rio 2. 9.5/10

Re: Divergent
Thanks to elski for taking me along yesterday, had a lovely fun day at the "fan experience" on a very warm first day of Spring, got great seats, a T-shirt that fits for a change, saw the stars in the flesh, and thanks to jeanelle for the Rio popcorn, raj101 for the Lindor chocs, sorry elski, I know he b*ght them for you, but I think I had the most!
Well, despite celine and valda walking out, and raj101 falling asleep for most of it, I was hooked from start to finish, even though the boot camp dragged a bit. I was very impressed that the author wrote this when she was only 20 years old! I also really loved the music. And Theo James is hot, loved his voice too! 9/10

Re: Divergent
I have not read the books so can only judge the film on its own merit.
I can see the potential in the story but the execution is not brilliant. The film is long and the story quite slow for the most part. It has the obvious comparisons to The Hunger Games but Shailene Woodley is no Jennifer Lawrence, she does not have the acting range to carry this film IMO.
I have heard this is the strongest book in the trilogy so do not have high expectations for the sequels.
6/10.

I totally agree with Canadian Turtle, I loved it. Theo James was hot and don't even get me started on those tattoos - fans self!

Re: Divergent
Unfortunately some of us are less inclined to like a movie according to the hotness of its leads... (but I do recognise that the male lead was good looking)
For me, both the story and the characters were very lame and the acting quite wooden; this is why I could not be bothered to sit through an extra 80 minutes of it.
According to what I've seen I'd give it a 5/10

Re: Divergent
I didn't like the movie because one of the leads was hot, I generally really loved the way it looked, the story and the soundtrack. The fact that Theo was easy on the eyes didn't hurt.
