Re: FMUKCON Manchester - Saturday 5th April 2014
Would've loved to have gone to both events! But by some fluke I managed to win tickets for the races on Friday and Saturday (also went on Thursday!) Hope everyone has a great time!

Sorry I couldn't make it up north this time.
The sheer amount of planning that's gone on, it seems impossible that you'll have anything less than a fantastic day.
Best wishes from London!

Re: FMUKCON Manchester - Saturday 5th April 2014
I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone for a fabulous evening last night and to the amazing Julie (MrGlasses landlady) for a wonderful meal
We all 17 of us (from far and wide (not very far in my case)) arrived in Glossop starting our evening of adventure at the pub next to the station where a few of the gang sampled some of the local ale. We then had a guided tour by the astronomer himself MrGlass through the Manor Park where he cruelly suggested encouraged by the dreadful Steve that we had to climb over a fence and river to get to the cottage - fair play to Baty even with her crutches she was game for it. We then headed up hill where MrGlass, chelle1973 and her mum decided to abandon us so we had no idea where to go luckily Betty Botter's OH and my DD went on a mission to find them. If he thinks he's getting rid of us that easily he had better think again
We had a last minute change of plan as MrGlasses landlady kindly offered to make us some jacket potatoes as MrGlass had said that there were about 7 or 8 of us so she was slightly alarmed at the numbers but rose to the challenge and produced a cauldron full of delicious chilli, rice, proper oven done jacket potatoes and the piece de resistance was a huge carrot cake still warm out of the oven perfectly accompanied by a cup of coffee
We all sat in a workshop kitchen to eat which added to the atmosphere on hand made benches by the landlady's son. Just perfect.
MrGlass, prettyxcool plus OH, my DD, akh43, steve and OH, Betty Botter plus OH, Suel's OH, Baty plus OH, Yogi plus OH and Chelle1973 plus mum thanks for your lovely company and for making last night what it was
The sky didn't clear until we had left so MrGlass had the pleasure to himself of seeing jupiter.
Just heading off for another day of excitement and adventure
Hope you noticed ejwrank and MsThrifty that I didn't let you girls down and did have some wonderful cake

It all sounds amazingly action-packed and enjoyable so far (despite causing some cake envy down south, or would have done if I liked carrot cake); hope everyone else can continue to keep up with Diane65's punishing pace!
