Book Slam @ The Tabernacle

We're very excited to welcome back one of our founders, his Lordship BEN WATT of Notting Hill (prince of pitch perfect pop, doyen of the DJ, maestro of the memoir and the dude from Everything But The Girl) to read from his brilliant new book, 'Romany And Tom'.

He will be joined by some of London's most gifted young artists in the form of the exquisite musical talent that is ANOUSHKA LUCAS, and WILL BURNS, recently announced as one of the Faber New Poets for 2014. Everything will be knocked into some kind of shape by our favourite sparring partner and host for the night, FRANCESCA BEARD.

The Card Shark Show

MAGIC multi-media show by award winning close up magician Steve Truglia. Enjoy and have fun! Short and sweet – 1 hour show !!!! If you love poker, love cards, card magic you MUST see this guy.

The Card Shark show stars Steve Truglia, an accomplished sleight of hand expert and close up magician. Having passed the notoriously rigorous performance exam for The Magic Circle, Steve sought out long ago hidden secrets within the Magic Circle's incredible library, to further study these dark arts. In earlier life Steve's time with UK Special Forces taught him the use of psychological operations to defeat an adversary; skills which are also used by gambling cheats and con artists to this day.

Over 18s only

Our Country’s Good this Saturday 26/04/14 Farifield halls

The powerful true story of a ragbag cast of convicts, who put on a play under the guidance of an earnest young marine officer. As the barriers between captors and captives break down, they start to discover each other, both onstage and behind the scenes…

25 years ago, Our Country’s Good premiered at the Royal Court Theatre before transferring to the West End and Broadway, winning major awards on both sides of the Atlantic. This new production by the play's original director, Max Stafford-Clark, was hailed as a triumph.
