Hi Everyone
It's time to get planning for FMUKCON 2015 in Edinburgh as for those of us who are going to make a weekend of it all the reasonably priced rooms have now been released so to get the best deals good to book early (thanks for the reminder yogi ). If anybody hasn't been it is just a beautiful city and the Scottish FMUKers are good fun and very hospitable.
Everybody is welcome and the more the merrier whether you just want to attend the meet up or come on an optional sightseeing tour the choice is yours. I've avoided Easter and Mothers day.

Wow, planning time already. Looked at the hotel link and seems ok, cheaper rooms if you don't need a window. I have to find some things out before I can commit to a date but, fingers crossed, we will be there.

Getting excited already!! Although I couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery..............well actually I prob could, pick a pub lol. I am willing to help out in whatever way I can. And I may even book myself into this hotel too, saves me the journey home haha

Given I live in Edinburgh I should be about; but given I hardly know where I am week to week, a year in advance is way too far ahead for my wee brain to comprehend! It should be good though. You can all come try a tram!

Would mention Travelodge too. Lots of them in city centre of Edinburgh and you can get a good rate if you book one room at a time, day at a time, if you try and book two nights together you don't get cheap rate.

Don't know much about the Tune Hotel but it is just across the road from the Haymarket Railway Station and about 10 minutes walk from Princes Street.

Once i finish this work on Friday i should be about more often to help out. But it is busy season for me. However will do my best. I did think about St Andrews weekend in November simply cos then we get free entry to some places. However whatever suits

I am definitely going! Man, I love Edinburgh. Last time I came, was for my marathon, and you guys were awesome and so welcoming. Will make it an extended weekend stay outside edinburgh as I did with FMUK Manchester. And again, like in Manchester/Glossop, I'd like to invite everyone for a stargaze session on my telescope...hopefully better skies this time!

As far as dates are concerned, aren't the polls available as a multiple choice? Because the best way to choose a date is for everyone to give all possible dates they can attend rather than having to actually choose one date only. I know there is an any date option but that wont help choose the date that the most people can attend because there may be one date some cant attend but can attend others. I hope that makes sense...but if the polls cannot be multiple choice then so be it.

For me, I know I cant do 18th April (start of cricket season, I have to arrange dinner bashes etc) but I can attend all other dates...But I cant choose that way in the poll, so I just ticked earliest date on list.


Edit: btw I love Diane's control is extending to Edinburgh, lol. Go Diane, always feels safe with your organising skills :)

Edit 2: I've now researched where I will stay. A cottage b&b in North Queensferry. Just a 25min journey from Edinburgh. £5.50 return from Edinburgh (or probably less/free with your hanky panky thing or whatever its called) for those who may like to join me for a tour of the area and a personal tour of the cosmos through my telescope :) This is the place to view that magnificent jaw dropping Forth Bridge. I had visited this place before but only as a half day trip from Edinburgh. So like I did with Manchester/Glossop, I will do a full day trip to Edinburgh from North Queensferry for the FMUK. Although flights are generally cheaper and much much quicker, I will have to take the train as will carry telescopes on me! All I need now is a date set :)
