Was just going to ask,but got to bottom of pxc's post and saw Glenn Miller, so something to do with him. I read it and when Pxc said Mr and Mrs Miller, I thought it was a play version of Meet the Millers.

Didn't mean to be all cryptic! ;)

I think if they had more charismatic actors it may make all the difference, as it was, it felt a little flat and boring. Even OH and mandmc10 thought the same. We just thought it was not as good as it should be. Shame, the music was good.

I agree with You prettycool it lacked that special feeling between the cast. But the music was great. I went with 2 Friends and Her loved it all. My other Friend nearly lifted off Her seat at the sound of the doodlebug where is was startled.
Wouldn't want too see this show again and I would recommend too others who I think would enjoy Bugle Boy.

I opted for The Pyjama Game over Bugle Boy because I hadn't seen it yet and I'm catching up on my West End at the moment. Cheesy but fun. My friend found the age gap difficult to swallow, but IMHO Joanna Riding looks amazing, I thought the chemistry between the leads worked. Plus they had great vocals.

I would have preferred Pyjama Game, but tickets were not available! Fingers crossed for the next batch, if any! :cross:

Bugle Boy was very much a whistlestop tour of Miller's life, and felt short even though it wasn't. The ending was perhaps a little too abrupt. His music is still thoroughly enjoyable.

Occasional mic problems but overall very good freebie, wouldn't p*y £25 for it though. And last night it was a nice enough taster of pre-apple pie America, just right before the USA game. Come to think of it they timed it well, with the 4th of July round the corner.

The musicians looked rather grim and unanimated lol as if they'd just had a spat over their holiday p*y.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Oh yes, they were rather weren't they. ;) And when Glenn Miller was conducting them, they did not even look up! Their eyes were glued to the song sheet all the way through. So totally unrealistic!
