I saw this with 2 friends. Although I quite enjoyed it, my friends didn't.
I considered it a 'fun' action film, but basically my friends seemed to judge the film purely as a slapstick comedy and, if witty scenes weren't slapstick enough for them, they didn't enjoy them.

Re: Date Night
Tina Fey as always was a revelation. The film was better than expected though a little over the top.

Re: Date Night
Saw this last Friday afternoon in High Wycombe using a MyCityDeal voucher, with five other people in a massive auditorium!
I had been poorly when the SFF screenings were on, and having read the mostly positive reviews on the forum I decided to try and catch it.
I enjoyed it right from the start, and I got swept along with the action sequences. I thought the two main characters were very good, and a warning not to get lazy about married life. I thought the Mark Whalberg character was a bit odd.
Taken as a fun action adventure, this worked very well, but it didn't hold up as a straightforward comedy as I didn't find it spectacularly funny. It held my attention throughout, but I was quite happy it was only an hour and a half long. It was an enjoyable afternoon at the flicks, but will be forgotten pretty quickly.

Re: Date Night
yeah i agree i enjoyed this film and laughed a lot at some points, but it will be forgotten quickly. The repetitive jokes about the shit and taking the reservation got old fast! but overall it was a laugh and worth a watch.

Been and seen this film the other night and it was brilliant. Has a good mix of action but the comedy is the best
