Re: IT Help, Please
My tv has 3 hdmi ports and they are selected for individually by the input button on the remote. Its possible that the tv can select the live port automatically but manual selection is always there. When in doubt use the manual selection.

Re: IT Help, Please
Could anyone recommend a good wifi booster? It is for a 7 bedroomed house (student accomodation) and DD is on the top floor and cannot get wifi up there. It was included in the price of the room but appears that they are picking up the neighbour's wifi
Also in the interim what cable can you get so that her wireless printer works without wifi. She has to keep on coming down a floor to use wifi
Thanks so much for any help

Re: IT Help, Please
The trouble with wifi repeaters is that they only boost what they receive so if the signal is weak, that is what is repeated, despite the increased signal strength. You may need 2 or 3 repeaters to make a continuous strong signal that really is strong. Much better is the powerline type device which sends the network over the mains and http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from= ... 0&_sacat=0 is a good place to start. I use this type myself.Diane65 wrote:Could anyone recommend a good wifi booster? It is for a 7 bedroomed house (student accomodation) and DD is on the top floor and cannot get wifi up there. All printers will have a usb connection, even wireless types. Mine required wireless setup with the usb lead sending the configuration data so a direct connection is possible.

Re: IT Help, Please
Not sure this is strictly IT, but struggling to get BBC iplayer on my tv, I no problems doing this until a few weeks ago. I have Sony Bravia connected to internet with cable, no problems watching youtube and 5 demand, sony, other channels I have tried so I seem to be connected, but when I try iplayer it just gives me a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark Temporarily cannot access the server. Please retry. It has been saying this for the past few weeks. I tried refreshing the network settings, but no change.
I cant see anything in the manual or in troubleshooting covering this. Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
