Have to agree with the few dissenters on this thread. Saw the film in Canary Wharf on Monday and by the end thought that the film was not as funny as it would like to think it was.

Yes, all the elements were there for a ironic look back at the 80s (the music, the film refererences within, even Chevy Chase in a cameo). Trouble is much more could have been made of this premise and more laughs delivered - with 3 writers on board you'd think that wouldn't have been difficult. Just throwing in gross out moments gratuitously will only go so far. 'Role Models' is in the same vein except it doesn't pretend to more than what it is and it is much funnier as a consequence.

Still, I guess it makes a change for John Cusack to be in a below par film like this rather than the usual flaky rom-coms he periodically churns out.

Came to see the film with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised.

I actually got a chuckle or 2 from some of the gags as I don't laugh easily even when watching a comedy.

Overall thought it was entertaining enough albeit it was predictable and silly at times.

I went to see this to take a well earned break from work, and it was exactly what I needed. I was laughing throughout, sometimes close to tears. It was exactly as I expected a light hearted comedy, which doesn't take itself to seriously.

Saw it again tonight, gladly parted with £2.65 at my local Vue, no one else seemed to laugh, screw them, I was in hysterics. It's nice to know there are films out there I can enjoy.

Remind me never to go to preview screenings with slow walkers again.
Arrived just about on time (6.25) but got turned away.
Tried to haggle with the manager, didn't get anything other than the offer of student discounts (all three of us are students anyway). Buuuutttt.... might get my hands on the official SFF contact details they have - might come in handy...

Went to see this film to-night in glasgow, thought it was total tripe, not in the least bit funny. It also didnt have much reflection on what the eighties were about either. I definately wont be recommending it !.
