I've had two root canal treatments done via the NHS. I have had no problems with either. So, I'd just look for another NHS dentist.
Paracetamol will not take away abscess pain. Go to your local chemist and ask for Coffea 30 (i think its called). It will take away abscess pain in minutes. It's a homeopathic remedy and its used only for abscess pain relief as far as I know. It is a miracle product :-)
