Saw this at the O2 with all their shenanigans. Turned up early only to find out there was a mix up with start times and wouldn't be shown till 8.30pm after the live red carpet. They wouldn't put the lights on in the auditorium so we had to walk in using our mobiles for light and 'feel' our way to seats. Apparently lots of FMUKers were there but I didn't see anyone in the dark, only saw prettyxcool when I went to the ladies.
As for the film I was quite disappointed. Perhaps if I had read the book(s) I would have enjoyed it more. I couldn't help but compare the Hobbit films to LOTRs (which I loved) but they didn't compare. I thought there would be more of Smaug, the 'romance' and more dramatic/epic fighting scenes but it was all a bit tame.

Re: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
Finally got around to seeing this last night with vouchers just about to expire. I had enjoyed the other Hobbit films in the series, but I wasn't really looking forward to this one as much.
I was surprised by how much I really disliked it. Two and a half hours of fighting, and some quite naff cgi effects. I felt pretty bored throughout most of this to be honest, which was disappointing as I had read lots of articles about the making of the film and I enjoyed the book too.
Maybe it was just one film too far.
