Thanks for the kind words baty and ejwrank. o/

Eye ops can be scary if you think about them too much. However, unless you favor blindness there's little choice but to go with them really. I had detached retinas in each of my eyes within the space of 6 weeks last year which were repaired but this has resulted in cataracts forming. Looking forward  to my next op in about 5 weeks time to do cataract no, 2. To be honest there's not much to them really. It's a 20 minute procedure done under local anesthetic and you get sent home within an hour or so after the op.

What I am seriously concerned about though are the free John Lewis drink and cake vouchers that arrived for Mrs Preston and myself today. As if I wasn't finding the dieting thing hard enough this time around. ;)

Try and be good everyone. :D .... And I include those two missing miscreants Andrews and Diane in that. Surely they are not both keeping their diet tips to themselves. ;)

Oh, congratulations, ClareBarr! That's a great achievement. Just one more lb and it's a whole stone! o/ o/

One of my friends is an eye doctor, so I hear a lot of hospital stories and at the risk of sounding like an old person, it's amazing what they can do these days. Hope the next op goes well, Preston1990. o/

Sounds like you're making the right changes, Baty. Hope it pays off on the scales. :cross:

Small steps, ejwrank - I'm very nearly back to normal now!

Have finally taken the last bag of clothes to the charity shop - if you look in my wardrobe now, it's actually full of things that fit me and that I want to wear. Wonders will never cease. I can't put the weight back on or I won't have anything to wear... Bit drastic, maybe, but I'm hoping it'll keep me on the wagon! o/

That must be a great feeling, asamaic - to fit back into clothes again. A good excuse to b*y new ones, too :)

Wow! Congratulations ClareBarr that's another fantastic result from you. :cheer:

You really are doing absolutely phenomenally well! As Asamaic has said, that's virtually a whole stone that you've lost since Christmas. o/

And Asamaic, I love your positive outlook too. I think it's a genius idea to ship off your "old" clothes to charity as an incentive for keeping your lost weight off. o/

I'm hoping that the ClareBarr and Asamaic success stories start to rub off on me, and that I start to lose some serious weight soon instead of yoyoing a pound or two up and down each week. :cross: :D

Wow how fabulous are you all doing well done. I too like asamaic got rid of larger clothes but sadly now I have nothing to wear due to not keeping it off :nono: I did actually go for a walk on Sunday plus one on Monday lunchtime as my whole body was aching probably due to the fact I just work and visit hospitals and go to bed :noo: I need to get myself organised to allow time to eat and exercise otherwise I won't be able to move at all due to being too fat and not moving my body.

I'm loving reading all this inspirational thread o/

Went for a hydotherapy session yesterday. Everyone was very kind and I loved being in the water again. Was embarrassed at being hoisted into the pool but I can live with that. Can't wait to get in next week.

Found out they do other therapies there, will definately be looking into the self hypnosis one. I need to sleep the whole night through.

A couple of years ago my friend stood in front of my creaking wardrobe and said 'will you ever be a size 8 again???' It was hard but knew they had to go. I think a realistic view of my weight means that I keep fewer, way too small clothes, most of my, just not quite things, and my gulp, you have to wear something that fits stuff.

I have still kept my Chealsea Girl, deep puple woollen dress/cardigan maxi from when I was 14 - I know, I know, it will never fit now but I just can't bare to part from it.

That is so funny. I got my rara skirt from there but mine thank goodness has moved on but I do have a rather fetching pair of earrings that I have kept from the 80's  Your cardigan actually sounds quite nice.

Waah! No change again for me this weigh-day. :wall:

I'm never going to fit back in my light green loons at this rate. :(

Well done on the hydrotherapy session Baty - It sounds like a great way to get exercise without overdoing it or straining anything. o/
