Re: Free Days Out - post them here!
If you or your kids dream of being the next Andy Murray, you can net free tennis sessions and coaching as part of the Great British Tennis Weekend, an event organised by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA). It has hundreds of venues across England, Scotland and Wales, and a coaching lesson can cost up to £15 per person, so it's great for a MoneySaving day out.
The best bit is you can go to as many sessions as you like. There are events taking place across three separate weekends - Sat 16 May & Sun 17 May (394 events), Sat 13 Jun & Sun 14 Jun (227 events) and Sat 1 Aug & Sun 2 Aug (109 events) - so the ball's in your court to decide where and when you're going to play.
Activities will vary between venues, but can include cardio tennis, mini tennis, coaching and free play. It's open to all abilities and for adults, families and kids, but certain sessions might cater for a particular age group (under-18s must be accompanied by an adult, but they don't need to participate).
Rackets and balls will be provided and all the information and venues can be found online.
How to book
The LTA suggests you book online in advance, but in some case it's fine to turn up on the day as long as there's room. You won't be able to book in advance at some smaller venues - in these cases just go along.
You can book for multiple people and sessions, but you'll need to book different venues separately on the system. Booking will be available until the day of the event, or until the session is booked up.
Warning: If you book online, you'll be asked to create a ClubSpark account (if you don't have one already). It's a free booking system run by a third party called SportLabs (a software and digital services company).
You'll have to agree to it and/or LTA contacting you, sending information and using your personal details. You can opt out of being sent marketing material and it sharing your details with other third parties though. It's all explained when you register.
You can cancel your account after the event by emailing enquiries@sportlabs.com

Re: Free Days Out - post them here!
Are you a student looking for a great day this autumn? Well, you will once again be able to attend Britain’s richest day of horseracing on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot for FREE on Saturday 17 October.
High-octane racing, an exclusive student area and an after party will be the order of the day for Britain’s climax of the season where the stars of the sport will be battling it out in a final push to be crowned champion.
Following on from last year an extra 500 tickets have been made available for students, but that still means that only 2,500 are available, so don’t delay and make sure that you register in time to take advantage of this great opportunity!
