Handel’s Nine German Arias, the composer’s final musicalsettings of his mother tongue, were inspired by the popular success of acollection of verse by the Hamburg poet Barthold Heinrich Brockes.

Christiane Karg and Arcangelo perform the complete settogether with one of Dietrich Buxtehude’s most soulful sonatas, probablywritten in the 1690s for performance at St Mary’s Church in Lübeck.

The evening continues in the Wigmore Hall Bar with music bythe Callum Au Quintet from 11:15 pm. This is a free event, with no ticketrequired.

Kafka's Monkey

After Sydney, Paris, Tokyo, London and New York, Kafka's Monkey comes to Manchester!

This stunning international production features an extraordinary physical performance from Olivier Award-winner Kathryn Hunter who plays an ape who takes on human behaviour to become a master of the 'civilised world' - a walking talking, spitting, smoking, hard drinking man. Based on a short story by Franz Kafka, Kafka's Monkey is a witty and heart-rending tale that places a startling mirror in front od a modern day audience.

Club Night - Marvin Humes Love Bug - this Thursday
Marvin Humes presents Luvbug
+ SPECIAL GUESTS

Marvin Humes presents LuvBug plus special guests at The Qube Project on 25th June 2015.

This is the first night of an exciting new DJ residency that will bring Marvin Humes and LuvBug together, with some very special guest DJs, on the last Thursday of every month.

LuvBug is an English electronic dance music trio consisting of Producers, Remixers, Music Lovers - London-born, ex-JLS member, DJ & producer Marvin Humes, plus Manchester-based producer The White N3rd and producer/songwriter JKAY.

Together, LuvBug started out remixing songs for others and putting together mixtapes and playlists. Their debut hit single feat Taley Riley 'Resonance' came out last October. That was quickly followed up with the club sound of Revive (Say Something) which has given LuvBug their second top 20 hit. Luvbug have a wealth of original material finished, and are in the process of whittling down the list for a debut album. One confirmed collaborator is fast-rising, singer/song-writer/producer MNEK. Other talent they’ve been in the studio with includes Becky Hill, who recently had a UK #1 with Gecko (Overdrive) alongside Oliver Heldens, and Wayne Hector (Nicki Minaj, Britney).

More about LuvBug:

LuvBug might seem like a new inception, but to trace their formation you would have to go back to the days when Marvin, as a 15 year old, was developing his scratching and mixing skills on his turntables in Woolwich, South East London. Also growing up in Woolwich was JKAY, who became part of the songwriting/producing duo Tracklacers. They worked with heavy-weights such as Danja (Timberlake, Usher) and Afrojack (David Guetta, Major Lazer) and also produced early material for JLS, Marvin’s globally renowned group.

Lastly but by no means least; Manchester hailing producer and remixer,The White N3RD is best known for his remixed tunes for Diplo and Azealia Banks. He was introduced to Marvin through songwriter Ali Tennant (David Guetta). Ali suggested sending a track over to Marvin, who was really excited by it and got in touch wanting to start a group.

LuvBug have been DJing on the UK club scene for some time and they are constantly playing dates in the UK and abroad, including a residency at the iconic Cafe Mambo and Pacha in Ibiza.
