Its just a 15 minute slot between Ant & Dec and A Cinderella Story so its a set your recorders job. Its too easy to miss it otherwise.
Also repeated on Sunday at 3.35pm
Really enjoyed these 3 shorts!

Can't wait to see the film!

Fun but throwaway, Minions is a creditable attempt to spin-off Despicable Me's supporting characters into a feature length film of their own beyond the occasional short.
After an inventive and amusing rush through the history of the little yellow fellas, the movie settles into a more familiar villainous takeover plot. If the filmmakers had a bit more faith they could have really embraced the surreal anarchy that can bring out the best in these characters, instead it's all a little cosy and forgettable by the time they've reached London during the swinging '60s.
Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm are fine but one-dimensional villains (unlike Gru). The film also lacks the heartfelt surrogate family feel of the Despicable Me films that could have helped make this feel a little more substantial .
Despite that, Kevin, Stuart and Bob are fun to watch and there is just enough enjoyable slapstick to keep kids of all ages happy. Plus there's always pleasure to be found in the random recognisable words they sometimes utter. A cry of 'Pancake!' before they flatten several Egyptians with a pyramid is a delight.
Minions is certainly enjoyable while it lasts but unlikely to linger in the memory for too long.
Still there's a certain ring to 'Sir Kevin' and fans of sitting through thousands of animators names in the hope of an end credits sequence will be pleased to know their patience isn't entirely wasted.

I loved it too, Beate!

It's amazing how much character and story they managed to fit into 3 x 5min slots!

somewhat diluted slapstick, think an animated but weak Stooges movie dubbed into some weird version of Esperanto.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Saw the Minions film last night using a voucher. Loved watching all the wee guys and their antics. I did find myself trying to actually understand their language or what languages were being used as a fair mix of European languages used. I enjoyed leaving reality behind and escaping into Minion land.. . .think I'll move there! Not the best animated film as the story is not that great but I was definitely entertained as were the rest of the small audience. I do think the cinemas here have overestimated the numbers wanting to see the film as there is a starting time every 30minutes in most cinemas. There was probably only about 25 at the screening I attended at 6pm. Scottish schools are already on holiday and no sun yesterday plus it was Meerkat Movie day which I thought might have boosted attendances.
Marks 7.5/10

I loved this. It was the perfect antidote to a crummy day at work, if it gets too busy/difficult tomorrow I'll just think of the little yellow guys or BA-NA-NA or super mega ukulele and things won't seem so bad.
Just occasionally logic or reason reared its head and a little voice said this is nonsense, but then I quickly drowned it out by laughing again. I can't remember the last film when I laughed pretty much solidly all the way through. There may be better films this year, but it'll be hard to beat this for pure enjoyment
And a huge thanks again to The Sparrow for my meerkat code, £12 well spent 9.5/10

Saw this today in 3D using my tickets for a film and a combo meal I won with Cineworld. Only 11 of us in the screening - 3 which were children. The music was good and liked the Beatles crossing Abbey Road. Kevin is a star but Bob is so funny. 8/10 for me.

I agree that Sandra Bullock didn't suit the voice of the villain. I found the whole film pretty disappointing and lacking in laughs apart from as quoted, the end credits.
Bring back Despicable Me
