I'll just back up what Beate has said - frustrating as it is, you shouldn't PM members for chatting in Free Films. Unless you're a moderator, it's crossing a line, really. The member on the receiving end can easily feel bullied.

Same even when it's me or Beate sending the message. Personally I try to avoid it where possible, unless it's a repeat offender.

This has come into debate many times before, and we've had difficulty with people taking things into their own hands. It's worth remembering that Beate and I are not forum police, we're just here to keep things running smoothly. So there's no need for vigilantes!

Above all, never forget that this is just a little site on the internet. And when you're sitting at a computer screen, all you're doing is making shapes and colours change. This isn't the UN. It's rather OTT coming up with phrases like "barking orders", "free speech" and "dictator". Even if you disagree with Beate on an issue, before you criticise her (or make any accusations) remember that she's a rather wonderful person who dedicates a lot of time for your benefit - and does a fantastic job.

Don't you think this is getting a little OTT as well? A new member (with no reason to assume it would cause a problem) sent another member what appears to be an non-offensive personal message about the rules of the site. We all know and appreciate the work you and Beate do to keep the site running. We also know it isn't the UN - but vigilantes? Beate herself has asked for no further comments - can't this just be left now?

I'm from Holland and after spending more than 5 years in the UK, I've decided to go back. My (English!) boyfriend is coming with me so it will be very interesting to see how we settle in.

Wondering though why we didn't pick somewhere more tropical... ;)

Good luck.

That's not so far that it's not easy to come back :-)

I'm sure you'll have a great life. Your boyfriend will be fine!!

Thanks tilly, well the moving back to Holland plans were already going ahead before I found out I was pregnant but yes, it was a future consideration. My mum would have been devastated otherwise!
