Hope you've had a great day so far, ClareBarr! The wagon awaits you tomorrow, celebrate in style (and calories) today. :D

In good news, my weight continues to gradually decline. In bad news, I only did my leg in again yesterday! I stumbled (I swear the ground was even) and had a soaring pain in my knee and what is apparently my quad muscle. I didn't realise I had muscles to damage. My lovely physio managed to fit me in for a same day appt first thing after work. It's the most amount of pain I've been in since spraining my ankle, but apparently it's not that serious. Better do those leg exercises he showed me... Suffice to say, my next appt is unlikely to be my last now, I'm going to need another referral for more treatment.

Starting to feel utterly past it. :tears:

At least the diet continues. I'm logging what I eat every day - not quite managing to get daily weigh ins due to moving issue (I'm essentially living in two places at the moment and only have one set of scales) but I'm staying accountable. If my leg is well and truly knackered, I know I have to really watch what I eat because I can't compensate with exercise.

Your menus sounds really good, Preston and Diane. I am tempted to b*y a blender for my new kitchen, milkshakes sound like an easy way of getting more fruit into my diet. o/

So sorry to hear about your injury asamaic as you have certainly been through it lately. Please post your meals if you have time as we can get inspiration from each other.

I hope that ClareBarr is busy eating lots of cakes.

For your information Preston1990 we didn't have any cake at all you must be getting me mixed up with the Diane65 from last week ;) I am a reformed character. Loving the sound of your red onion bagel but the flavours of the chutney won't have developed as yet so if it tastes weird you only have yourself to blame :shifty:

I've just had my bagel. Diane's plum and apple chutney is just perfect despite her misgivings. I'm going to try and resist, but I can't see it lasting until Christmas if I'm honest ;)

I decided to take out a full daytime gym membership today o/ Strangely, it's actually slightly cheaper than p*ying for my twice weekly 2 hour sessions. This way, I can still go to these sessions and have swims, saunas and any other fitness classes that I want to, on any day at any time that takes my fancy (before 16:30) and still p*y less overall. No brainer... ;)

Really sorry to hear about your leg asamaic. You've certainly been in the wars lately! Take care :nono:

Did a bit more hedging today as well - will try and post a photo over on the gardening thread tomorrow in response to a request there. :D

I didn't realise it was gluten free etc. It was nice but tasted a tad too vinegary so lesson for me to learn cook in larger portions so have homemade food ready out of the freezer.

I was in the office til late last night, and will still be there again late tonight. Booo.

I have no menus to post as supermarket sandwiches followed by more of the same aren't to be recommended, but at least I've kept an eye on my calorie intake. o/

Hoping to report an overall loss on Sunday. No scales tomorrow!

Have a good weekend all!

Supermarket sandwiches are good. Needs must at times especially when long days at work.

As I have a completely free weekend loads of time for cooking which I love (should be cleaning really but prefer to cook  ) as for the meatballs of yesterday I actually froze 2 portions even though the menu says serves 3 it actually would serve 6 very easily so £1 a portion.

Menu of the day;
Natural yoghurt honey and passion fruit (free from my neighbour's garden (a different neighbour from the plums))layered with toasted oats (as I haven't got any granola in plus this is fewer calories and a heck of a lot less expensive) (320 calories - I used 25gm oats dry fried in a pan, 2 passion fruit, 200gm natural yoghurt (a double recommended portion as I want it as a full meal) and 2 tsps of honey(I had to measure it out as would be tempted to pour out loads)). It only took 5 minutes to make.

to use up the other half of the tin of butter beans. With https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... 7490,d.d24 mixed salad and yoghurt dressing (natural yogurt and lemon juice) plus chipotle sauce on the burger to give it a kick as I have just made it and a tad bland but I imagine it would have been better with carrots rather than sweet potato but as I got a bag of them hence that choice. The rest of the raspberry jelly.

Chicken, mango and spring onion with brown rice. Still deciding how to cook it as I am thinking cinnamon, possibly ginger with a dash of soy sauce and possibly sherry. I fancy a fragrant flavour.
Poached figs (figs are on offer 4 for 69p in Tesco) with cinnamon and ginger served with a touch of natural yoghurt (The real me would like to be having a large serving of mascapone cheese :shifty: ).
I'm liking poaching at the moment as so quick and easy plus delicious and healthy.

I will work out how much I can have of everything so that I have about 1200 calories.

Have a fun day everyone and keep posting o/ I will report back on the exercise front.

Tip of the day - don't be smart and try and text while dry frying oats as it will catch

No cooking for me until I figure out how hot my oven is (have ordered a thermometer, there aren't any temperature markings!) but I came across the below recipe by Justine Pattison that you might like. Personally, I love sea bass and honestly, you don't need to eat it with tons of potatoes on the side, so I think this will be lovely. At 287 calories, it's got to be worth trying. o/

Baked sea bass with pepper and pine nuts - 287/serving, serves 4

4 sea bass fillets (about 150g each)
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
salt and pepper
25g pine nuts
6 spring onions
1 garlic clove
20 basil leaves (10g)
zest of 1/2 lemon
50g breadcrumbs
170g roasted peppers in oil

Toast the pine nuts for 3-4 minutes until lightly browned. Tip into a bowl and add the sliced spring onions, garlic, torn up basil, lemon zest and breadcrumbs.

Chop the peppers, add the pine nut mixture, season with salt and pepper and stir. Preheat the oven to 220 C (200 if fan oven).

Slash each fillet 3-4 times through the skin. Spoon the mix onto a large baking tray in 4 piles and spread until roughly the size of a fillet.

Put a fillet on top of each pile and tuck any bits of mixture sticking out underneath. Drizzle with the lemon juice and olive oil, season and then bake for 15 minutes.

:jawdrop: Poaching Laws
In the 1500s, killing deer meant death to anyone but royalty [source: nationmaster]. Between the mid- 1700s and the first half of the 1800s poachers were hanged or sent to Australia, especially if guns were used or a gamekeeper was injured in the crime [source: Scribd].
It used to be that poachers were able to keep their licenses as long as they pa*d their fines, and in most states, jail time was unheard of. Today, as poaching problems grow and more species are becoming threatened or endangered, laws are getting tougher and citizens are getting angrier. Law-abiding hunters view poachers as villains who ruin the good name of legal hunting.

You have been warned!! 8O

I'm loving that Sea Bass recipe asamaic o/ , but I doubt that you'll tempt Diane with it. Now if it had been venison...... ;)

I had a little sneak onto the scales today as a kind of foretaste of how I was going to be faring tomorrow (Hmmm? ....does that even make sense?) Suffice to say, I'm quietly confident!!

Good luck to everyone else on your respective weighdays. And...I predict that we can expect a truly magnificent result from Diane who seems to be really in the zone at the moment!! ;) :D
