I guess it is acceptable in that Q or M are merely positions rather than actual character names, and thus can be filled by any actor of any age, and replaced as and when desired. It is not as awkward as having different ages/sexes/races of person playing the same character.
I get the 10 year old Benjamin being au fair with the tech, but can't really see the same 10 year old also having the required skills to renovate and rebuild a vintage Aston.
Had to laugh when I saw the new weapons controls in the DB10 being labelled with embossed tape. How 70s. Lol.

Surely we are to assume Q has a team under him who may have the skills to restore the car while he comes up with the tech / gadget aspect. The original Q never worked alone.. classic Bond always had James walking through a workshop type environment with lackies firing flame throwers and the like in the background.

the lackies would have all been made redundant under the new tory budget cuts.

why was 009 calling in to pick up his new supercar if the 00s had just been

They didn't know that the

00 program had been disbanded until it actually happened.
Q's dept would have already made the arrangement with 009.

009 had actually b*ght the car privately and taken it into Q Branch MOT and Services to have an ejector seat fitted :P

well perhaps. but the inference was that Q was stuck without a car to give to 009.

still its some kind of explanation, thank you. I'm thinking perhaps 009 didn't check his email reminders too, almost plausible giving hes a dinosaur by now.

Probably I shouldn't pick holes in a movie where a helicopter flies upside down three times in a row (and oddly only get a DADADAAA on the last flip lol).
