the escape is shot in imax, and the ending.

im a bit of a cinefile so these are the best options, in order.

#1 2D IMAX 70mm print, this insures full height image for IMAX scenes!
only place in europe that has this is London science museum http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/visitmu ... ce-awakens

#2 3D IMAX LASER (4k) two places have this, Empire Leicester Sq London. and cineworld Sheffield.
am unsure how the full height imax scenes will look on this as i have been to empires imax screen a number of times and it is the widest imax screen i have seen... but they have the new 12 channel imax sound!! sheffield should have this new sound system also.

#3 2D sony 4k, vues website lists London Piccadilly as the only cinema having star wars in 4k.... and only on opening day... which is silly as every vue cinema has a screen with a 4k lens and projector... anyays here is the link http://www.myvue.com/upgrades-extras/sony-4k

#4 3D Dolby Atmos sound Picturehouse Central/west end london. they have it in screen1 which has a NEC 4k projector and the new dolby atmos surround sound, 40+ speakers!
London olympic studio cinema also will be showing Star wars in dolby atmos, in 3d and 2d! but they only have a 2k projector!

#5 3D digital imax, like all the odeon ones, dual 2k projection for bright image (as its two lamps), and 6 channel imax sound... but doubt they will show the imax scenes at full height...

#6 2D in any cinema.

#7 (worst option) 3D at a vue cinemas.as they use ONE sony 4k projector, basic answer is 3D films on one projector have half the vertical resolution !! and also less brightness as it has only one lamp.

Thank you. That is very helpful. We booked BFI IMAX in waterloo. 3D imax. You do not mention this. Should we change seeing it in this format at this venue? Thank you.

I mention it. #5

Just sit up right. As 3D imax glasses are old system of polarised lens/filters.

If you tilt your head side ways you loose the 3D....

So keep eyes level.

Just saw the film at a 3am screening. What can I say but WOW. It had a lot to live up to and it certainly doesn't disappoint and Daisy Ridley is outstanding.

You don't need any knowledge of the first three films, it's as if they didn't exist, which might not be a bad thing and for anyone that wants to wait until after the credits, just to let you know that there is nothing after the credits.

Could be a contender for my film of the year.

i saw the 3am empire imax version after watching the dolby atmos version at picturehouse, and the laser imax version blew it away but as for the film, ray han an chewie very good but JJ is just the grand master of borrowing scenes from other films... 6.5/10

feels fast and loads cut out of it, i mean your not gonna p*y an actor not to talk now...

the masses will love it.

This is pretty accurate, 'the escape' scene isn't worth the cost of admission and I didn't even notice any full height scenes at the end.

Both 3D and IMAX add very little.

Enjoyable space romp about a group of characters united by their parents love of short names, great start as the introductions to the new humans are excellent, wobbly middle as the movie weirdly just throws away a lot of reveals and relies on a magical orange person, predictably rousing finish, can't wait to find out who the guy at the end was.
