Its like that so often, whenever there is a show at the omni, the queue is right across the foyer 30m before the film starts. Always feel sorry for people who arrive at, say 6:20, and struggle to find a seat then have to settle for the neck breaking front row

What's weird is it only ever happens at Omni, never any of the other cinemas here.
Which of course is the cinema Times favours in Edinburgh. Times readers!
Ah, that makes sense. Can't see many Wester Hailes residents having Times subscriptions

Being one of the OAP's mentioned the reason this happens is when we first started going at 6.10 to queue found several people already there so told friend we better make it 6pm. Then other folk arrive see the long queue and decide they better make it earlier so now if we go at 6 there are at least 20 folk that have been there before 6pm.

Great film, a little bit annoyed that they had to cover the 'love story'. Why couldn't it have just been about three brilliant black women without the need to add a romance factor: it was already a terrific story. 9/10.

What a super inspiring and must see film. I'm still shocked how some people don't recognise that any kind of segreation makes no sense whatsoever. The fight African Americans have had and are still having is a disgrace. This story was not long ago at all, 1960s! How strong and determined were these women? What people like this have achieved with the opposition they have had is amazing. Women are still not seen as equals in this world and neither are ethnic minorities or immigrants from specific countries. Who decides who is accepted in society and who is not? Even though the film is based on a true story, it is extremely well written. I felt there was lots of humour and positivity in difficult circumstances. I was really willing the women on and wanted them to do well. There's a massive cast. Kevin Costner is brilliant!

Biggins I don't regard you as one of the OAPs! So no offence to you intended. My mum is technically an OAP but I don't see her as such either and she'd probably kill me if I did!
No, it's the lot that get there about 5:15 and queue for an hour to get in. It's just a nightmare having escaped from work, run like a mad woman through the town to get to the east end at 6:02 and to be given the last two seats is a bit depressing as a Times subscriber who oats good money for my benefits. I guess they p*y their money too, I just wish the Times would mix the cinemas around in Edinburgh as this only really ever happens at Omni, for some unknown reason.

Had a second viewing yesterday morning. Still a brilliant film! Not just hidden figures, but hidden from recognition! Still cannot believe that their story has been hidden for so long and they are only getting the recognition they so deserve until now via this film. These African-American achievements helped America with the space race, they should have been recognised from day one, and should be in all history books. Kevin Costner's character so rightly saw that segregation, prejudices and biases needed to come down. They all had to work together for NASA to get John Glenn into space and home safely.
When Katherine tries to attend a briefing meeting, she's met with: "There's no protocol for women attending." in which she replies.
"There's no protocol for a man circling Earth either, sir."
When Mary Jackson was asked if she wanted to be an engineer if she were a white man. She replies "I wouldn't have to. I would already be one."
Classics!
