Do you mean someone from a minority? She's not exactly a big name.

I thought this was awesome. I despised Man Of Steel, loathed Suicide Squad and thought BvS was a mess (the Ultimate Cut was a bit more coherent).
Gal Gadot played the role incredibly well - charismatic, confident and endearing all in equal dose. Likewise, Chris Pine complemented her superbly.
And thankfully, despite the overall Zack Snyder aesthetic, it was a much lighter affair compared to the rest of the DCEU roster.
For once there was actual character development with an emotional element embedded in the action sequences, something that's been desperately missing so far from this series.
The bit in the trenches was a particular standout.

The bad news is that the finale is relatively disappointing mostly because
Spoiler

it's almost identical to the Batman v Superman finale, just with crappy CGI Doomsday replaced by crappy CGI Ares.
Other than that, pretty damn wonderful. Looking forward to some more Diana Prince in Justice League!

8/10

Was there though? Apologies for average length.
Spoiler
Show
Amazons and Lucy Davis not featured long enough to develop
Moroccan guy was there to act as a confused foreign driver
The Chief was there just to make smoke signals!
Ewen Bremner can't shoot, maybe did nonessentially at the end, wasn't clear
Bad guy huffs gas throughout the movie so he's strong at the end, no other reason
Scientist woman sees the error of her ways? Nah, just ugly
David Thewlis narrates his motivation as needed
Chris Pine, hero at start, hero at end. All suicide missions. Protective but that doesn't come in to play?

Just leaves Wonder Woman

Eager and naive at start. Leaps before she looks. Naive in new surroundings of London. Naive in trenches. Leaps before she looks again and at sniper. Cares about village, did at start. Told she was right all along at end, pretty sure she leaps before she looks in final battle. Not naive any more because she wears glasses and owns books?

I went to one of these special screenings last night at Odeon Trafford Centre, they had it in one of the biggest screens and it was only around 10%, clearly it was not promoted well. Hopefully the other screenings fared better as it was for a good cause. The Odeon staff were all decked out in super hero outfits which was a nice touch.

I did enjoy and glad I got to see and donated to a good cause. (Also it counted towards my 3 for 2 so planning to see Mummy next for free) I know it was not perfect, but compared to some of the earlier DC offerings it was a definite improvement and looking forward to the JL now. 8.5/10

A major step in the right direction from DC but some of the problems from the past movies still persist, and in spades. If they can eradicate just some of them then they can save this franchise from being a mess.

Best things -
1. Gal Galdot is spot on as the young WW on a journey of self discovery. Awesome, and thankfully nice to see a Hispanic (?) playing the lead rather than the usual comedy sidekick.
2. Plenty good SFX, although some of the scenery is blurry at times. Liked Nymeria. The Amazonians really looked the part, ripped and tall.
3. Decent enough smackdown at the end
4. Excellent support form the older cast members too, Thewlis, Davis and the old German guy in particular.

Now the bad -
1. Vague plot direction towards vaguely defined villain
Spoiler

and a preposterous assumption that to stop him would end the War. Was it intentional to depict WW as possibly mentally ill in respect to hallucinating this? The way she "decided" who was Aries and then went on a mission to kill them was borderline psychotic. It didnt sit well.
2. Some awful acting from the "villain" lady, it literally felt like she'd wandered in from a Harry Potter movie next door.
3. Americans trying to rewrite history by casting themselves as the saviours of World Wars.
4. And finally - the Germans are THE bad guys in WW1? Wtf?

So a step up from mixed mediocrity of the previous movies, but still lot of room for improvement if they want to challenge even a middling Marvel movies.

Wrugh what happened to Lucy Davis, barely recognised her at first. She is well funny.

3.5 stars.

America and Germany did both participate in World War 1.

I dont deny turned up at the end, thats my point. To be fair, I do mean the government rather than the population- I am sure a great many US citizens entered the War oblivious to it being a mass pillage. Regarding Germany - It was sickening that they were presented in an American film as the villains, especially when America were the real racehate monsters of that time.

Sorry I should have avoided politics, I meant it only as a negative aspect of the movie , and its a serious negative.

Wrugh?

Israeli, eating disorders, it's weird how the Ares mission is encouraged.

saw in imax 3d, 4 stars for that with its extra clout.

this is the first post Nolan DC movie that can stand toe to toe with Marvel, only bodes well for JL later this year.
