A courier just tried to deliver a bunch of flowers to me. I was sceptical and asked him if he he had the right house number. Sure enough, they were for next door! How difficult can it be to read large numbers over the door?

How disappointing they weren't for you though!

I can remember once about five years ago getting a wreath delivered to me - shocked the life out of me until I realised it was for my house number but the next road. Felt absolutely terrible for them.

Actually I wouldn't have wanted them - I'd have been thinking "Crumbs, now I'll have to find a vase and arrange them - as if I hadn't enough to do already!" But yes, a wreath would have been awful for all concerned.

You should have taken them and give to me! My mum would love them. When I left a job recently, the manager gave me a massive bunch of flowers worth well over £20.

I felt so embarrased walking home with it as it took me ages to get myself onto the bus. My Mum then spent ages looking for a vase big enough to accommodate it!
