We have a V+ box so I tend to set most things like this to series record and catch-up when I can, you can fast forward all the adds that takes it down but about a 3rd and any other boring bits. not that I really watch soaps anymore, but I think if you take the adverts, credits etc out, an episode of Corrie is only something like 18 mins!!

Trouble is when I get home from work tomorrow at midnight I will have X Factor & Celebrity to catch up with and have to get up at 7am for the other job....me thinks I will be needing matchsticks on Monday!! lol

I have 2 dvd recorders with hard drives, sky+ hd so I can record 4 things at the same time and watch another! Its all I do, TV, movies and books. Its finding the time though to watch it all, especially on the good film weeks. NOw if only I didn't have to work.

I'll put Celebrity on the DVD harddrive and skip through a lot of it o/

Ah because I'm single and old, I don't have anything else that needs my attention. I'm not as a bad as I used to be. Only one DVD gets used occassionaly when there's 4 things on at one time that I want to watch. Mostly its all on the Sky+, and catch up weekends. I'll be behind again this week cos of the Dragon movies tomorrow but I must watch those before the new one comes out

I miss our V+ box immensely. We haven't got cable here and we're not allowed a Sky dish. Have been waiting for Virgin to cable us up fir the six months since we moved. We have a crappy freeview reception and every time a car idles outside for someone to pop to the shop underneath us our picture goes to pot! Very very annoying.

I used to watch loads of TV but kept missing stuff, working 2 jobs, 2 kids, then when I am in have to fight for the buttons or wait till they're all in bed......its nice to get the films at the cinema and a bit of peace & quiet!!

Catching up with X Factor now!! :)

i can be anally tedious with my tv watching, if you get me. like i wont watch star trek out of chronological order, so i have to grit my teeth through four seasons of star trek enterprise before i move on to star trek voyager and deep space 9 lol. bad example, but hey.

fortunately this acts as a buffer, preventing me from watching a lot of stuff, or i would easuly end up watching as much as you guys!
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Awesome setup, Valda o/

Being a professional computer geek and a home entertainment enthusiast, I build my own mediacentre (with a pleasingly aesthetic living room look case), that has 4 Freeview tuners, using the Windows 7 built in mediacentre software and a seperate storage hub. As a result there are millions of programs recorded that hasnt...and never will be watched! Whats great about the software is that you can program in keywords such an actor's name etc and whenever a program/film shown anytime in the future, it will be recorded automatically. It also combines all the on-demand channels (such as Iplayer, ITV player etc) in the same interface, so absolutely everything, including personal media files is accessible from one remote control. The only thing it doesnt have is Sky but I dont subscribe to that because I am under the impression Sky is extortionate and lack proper customer service. Also, my tuners are not the new Freeview HD, and I dont see any available as PC cards as yet. But I get my HD fix with the On demand players and Blu Rays.

Does any look forward to b*ying the Radio Times/TV Times Christmas editions? I remember when I was a kid these were exciting, and I would circle around all the programs and films I will watch. With just 4 channels back then, It was all simple and more exciting...I feel that magic is gone because now we just spoilt for choice everyday with internet, dvds, 5 million channels!
