Why thank you Syd_BRist? I take it you have been there? Any good places to recommend? I'm not even sure whether I should take my friend there. She claims she wants to go there but she's such a fun lovin, can't sit still sort of girl who doesn't like history so i'm not sure what she thinks we will do when we get there!

Don't worry Syd - no guy will think about hitting on me. Trust me.

On reviewcentre.com easyjet gets 2.5 out of 5 and BA 2.6 out of 5. I would go for easyjet, at least it's cheaper.

Lol. Ok I will trust your opinion and go with that. I hope I do get to take all my luggage along. I don't want to leave my face products and perfume at the airport and then look like a monster throughout my visit. Even worse, they might take my Kurt Geiger's away and I'll have nothing to roam around in Rome with!!!!

Balls, woman, utter balls!!!!! :bighug:

Cripes!!! I'm sure she'll fall in love with Rome and Venice right away!! You can't help it!!! What's not to love??? Great food, great culture, great people, loads to do, loads to see, lots of hunky guys!!! I honestly don't know anything about the party scene there so I won't even guess at it but if you want lots of culture then you're going to the right place! We had the Lonely planet guides to rome and venice and they were invaluable. Can't remember names, I suck at that, but you have to visit the Basilica Di San Marco, Doges Palace, travel around on a gondola, go up the Campanile for the best views (don't forget your camera!), take a coach or train to verona if you wanna see Juliet's (of romeo and juliet) house, etc, etc. In Rome, of course, you have St Peter's, collosseum, sistine chapel, etc, etc. You can join one of the Dan Brown Angels & Demons tours - travel the 'Path of Illumination' yourself lol (don't know if you've read the book???). Omg, I think Rome and Venice are cities you should 'discover' yourself. Definitely flick through a guide and then just go with the flow. Thats my advice.

And, OMG, did I mention the shopping??????????!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?! ;) ;) ;) ;)

You can always head over to Lake Como and stalk George Clooney if you get bored ;)

:bwl: They did make me laugh, my husband had his first greys at 15, by 25 almost all grey, 35 turning white!!

George Clooney still has that twinkle in his eye, but my friend has a thing for Richard Gere, I keep telling her Pretty Woman was made 20 or so years ago and he's even older now and she would need to botox him all over, but she's not having any of it!! lol
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!
