Was chucked out of Bank Station tonight. Had just arrived from the Northern Line and was metres away from the DLR platform when they told us to immediately evacuate the station through Monument exit. I managed to find the way towards the Tower of London for Tower Gateway DLR but after a few metres encountered a posh bus going to Canary Wharf for £3 a pop - so I took it. I have never consciously seen these buses before and I am aware it sounds like a rip off but the walk to and then journey from Tower Gateway would have taken much longer - and a taxi would have been much more expensive. By the time I arrived at Canary Wharf station, Bank station was open again - grrr.

Was it a security alert? It was front page news today about increased transport police presence due to potential increased threat
