I think most people would struggle to differentiate the plot of this film with one's like Happy Feet, Surf's Up, Finding Nemo, Madagascar 1 and 2 etc

mattymc13 wrote:Do you know what else bothers me about films like this? Everytime a certain species comes across another of their species that happens to be of the opposite gender, they fall in love over the space of a few minutes. And it follows the same pattern. Female thinks male is an idiot, they get into a bit of peril, it turns out the male is quite charming, and they end up kissing. It generally takes an hour or so, and not ONCE, not ONE single time have I ever felt it to be anything close to realistic - perhaps it is realistic for normal animals, but not animals within a film, as they are essentially people. And that's a problem when adults have to sit through films aimed at younger audiences. We just sit there thinking, "If only it were that simple."

Just attempt something a little bit different, please!
Isn't that the plot of every single romcom and bodice ripper? :giggle:

I realise neither are Brazilian but Salma Hayek or Penelope Cruise would have been good! Even the Colombian lady who is on Modern Family. Also didn't find it necessary for her to sing in this.

well, Spanish/Mexican and Portuguese/Brazilian accents are still very different... not sure I would have been more convinced!

who is the guy doing the voice over of the bird sanctuary doc? (cant remember the name of the character!)

(remind me of all these people thinking I am German... I am French, and I have a French accent... but obviously not everybody can distinguish accents  )

I think it would be more convincing than having an American accent, that's for sure!

I think if you watched it in Brazil, it's going to be dubbed over by locals anyway but somewhere like USA or UK, it's more important to have someone who speaks the dialogue clearly so it's easily understood by even the younger ones.
