I saw this tonight in Leicester. It was pretty much what I expected it would be. I wasn't that impressed, I thought there were some amusing parts, but it was kind of lame. Am I the only one who thought the wigs were AWFUL? It also felt to me like it was just dragging on and on.

Virgin Media gave out free popcorn at the beginning so that was pretty nice.

yeah it seemed to drag for most of the film but I found it did pick up towards they end and get a bit funnier too. I suppose they had to go through all the tedious bits to show the stupendous amounts of bad decisions he made.

We also had a smiley Virgin girl dealing with the tickets and sending us over to get our free popcorn and then greeting people as they left next to a virgin marketing banner. The screening was less than half full and they ran a virgin ad beforehand and the winner of the virgin shorts called 'sign language' that was quite amusing.

same at Marble Arch, smiley lady greeting us when we arrived and still very smiley when we left!
the screening was half empty so lots of extra popcorn!

I found it quite enjoyable and was almost expecting people to start singing at some point... nobody did and I did not want to be the first to start as I am pretty tone deaf
that would be a 7/10 for me!

Just checked on IMDB and yes this is supposed to be a comedy.

I lost count of the number of 'shites' in the film, and as a review it's hard to disagree.

Slow, overlong and unfunny, I'd give it 2/10 just because it was nice/touching to see Peter Serafonicwz and Pete Postlethwaite.

It was good as well to get popcorn and get a short film, just a shame it was the same one as the last Virgin screening I went to.

I accompanied ejwrank to the Prince Charles for the screenig and Q&A afterwards. No popcorn or anything, just a mad scrum as they kept everyone waiting outside then when you went in names had to be checked on a list.
met up with Bevvy Marina and Cliveas which was lovely - that's another person I've met

I think the film suffered from an identity crisis, not funny enough not serious enough, not dark enough. As somone who grew up in that era and who was a U2 fan, it was quite amusing seeing the clothes, clubs and music from those times but, if you are not older or a fan of U2, what was there to watch? Ben Barnes did make a good front man and was quite convincing as a singer (he did actually sing the songs)

It is based on a book by the real Neil who did go to school with Bono and did try and make it in the misic industry. 6/10

Odeon Lothian Road, Edinburgh had a girl handling out the popcorn when we arrived and told us to go into screen 3. A short while later a female member of staff asked us all to follow her and we were taken into screen 4 while the people already in there were transferred to screen 3.

My daughter and her OH were due to come and we kept seats for them but they never turned up. When we came out found that with parking problems they had arrived late and were told to go to screen 3 - so they had watched The Adjustment Bureau!!!

The film its self was quite good - about what I expected - but wouldn't want to watch it again on DVD. 5/10.

Ben Barnes was wearing his Prince Caspian wig no doubt. Hair in general in those times was horrendous. Me having frizzy but soft and thin dark hair, had dreadful times trying to get a Ziggy Stardust look with the straighteners :shifty:
