There is plenty of charities in this country and they always look for foster homes :)
I just got in touch with my local one (Junction Road, Archway), visited them and told them I would be interested in helping them. Basically, they “collect” (sorry, I realised this is probably not the right word in English!) stray cats and previously “owned” cats and put them back for adoption.
They need fosters to take care of them temporarily when they are sick, on diet (I had some of those as well, I will post pictures and stories later

) or not ready yet to be re-homed.
(I am speaking now for the charity I foster for)
They usually try to foster 2 cats at the same time and put them for adoption together as well.
Logistically, you first received a charity worker at your home to check your motivations and if your home is acceptable to receive cats; then the charity add you to the list of fosters and contact you whenever they have cats to place. They provide you with food, toys, bedding and litter. You just have to agree to bring the cats to the designated vet (free) when the cats need to see the vet and to love them as much as you can
