Lovely kitties!!!

Well, I am a cat person too :D
I always had cats back home for as long as I can remember!

I am very busy right now, live in a flat and don't spend much time home so I stopped fostering cats; but my fostering experience in this country was really interesting and I recommend to all cat lovers!
I will try to post some pics of the ones I took care of last year :)

Our Paddy has really hurt feelings this morning when told that R2D2 was deemed cuter than he is.
And Paddy never makes rude noises!

Welcome Angel -- you look content! Have a special fondness for black and white cats (or white and blacks in your case).

Let me first introduce Angel (another one!); she was my first foster cat and stayed with me from September to December 2009.

Got a call from Cat Protection a Friday morning, asking me whether I would be happy to foster a very young pregnant cat and take care of her and her kitten for the following 3 months… I, of course, said yes!
I was supposed to pick her up the next Monday at the vet. Unfortunately, she had a miscarriage during the weekend and was very poorly when I pick her up on Monday!

She was a stray cat and got pregnant when she was not even 1 year old; poor thing!
She has never been around human before but has been a very quick learner! Within a week, even so she was still pretty weak from her pregnancy, she got a bit less wild and started to enjoy my company.
Within 2 weeks, she was very responsive to games and could play for hours :D

Lovely cat!!!!

Angel is gorgeous! And lucky to have had you as foster mother!

Fostering cats is such a lovely idea! I've never heard about it before, how does one go about it?

There is plenty of charities in this country and they always look for foster homes :)

I just got in touch with my local one (Junction Road, Archway), visited them and told them I would be interested in helping them. Basically, they “collect” (sorry, I realised this is probably not the right word in English!) stray cats and previously “owned” cats and put them back for adoption.
They need fosters to take care of them temporarily when they are sick, on diet (I had some of those as well, I will post pictures and stories later  ) or not ready yet to be re-homed.

(I am speaking now for the charity I foster for)
They usually try to foster 2 cats at the same time and put them for adoption together as well.
Logistically, you first received a charity worker at your home to check your motivations and if your home is acceptable to receive cats; then the charity add you to the list of fosters and contact you whenever they have cats to place. They provide you with food, toys, bedding and litter. You just have to agree to bring the cats to the designated vet (free) when the cats need to see the vet and to love them as much as you can :D
