Taking my daughter to the hyde park festival on sat. Should be heaven for her - hopefully not to hellish for me.

Not sure about sunday. Wanted to do the battersea park festival but its sold out now.

Would love to see the flotilla but I'm guessing the riverside is going to be jam packed?
Maybe Greenwich or Piccadilly?

The school we back on to are having a Jubilee picnic for the kids, looks lots of fun, music playing, all running round playing traditional games, dressed up in red, white & blue look like they are having loads of fun.

Hope the weather holds for my kids one tomorrow.

Oh dear, lots of warning announcements on the railway yesterday about the large numbers of travellers expected over the weekend, the need to b*y tix in advance if possible, check train times, etc. I half-wish now that I hadn't arranged to go to London to see some plays but I had no idea about all this kerfuffle when I booked for those.

Flotilla is on Sunday, 3 June

The bridges are closed for viewing.
It starts at 2pm from Battersea. The areas for viewing opens at 8am! So a long wait....

Monday, 4 June
BBC Concert at Buckingham Palace: There will be a televised Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Beacons: A network of 2,012 Beacons will be lit by communities and individuals throughout the United Kingdom, as well as the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and the Commonwealth. The Queen will light the National Beacon.

Approximate timings
19:30 – Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace begins
After 22:30 – The Queen lights the National Beacon outside Buckingham Palace

The procession is on Tuesday 5 June
The service time is at 10.30am - and I expect some people will be camping out from 6am or before along the route!

Tuesday 5 June, 2012
On Tuesday 5 June, the Diamond Jubilee weekend will culminate with a day of celebrations in central London, including a service at St Paul’s Cathedral followed by two receptions, a lunch at Westminster Hall, a Carriage Procession to Buckingham Palace and finally a Balcony appearance, Flypast, and Feu de Joie.
