Re: Gambit
Saw this last night at Mayfair Hotel with not much expectation. Usual older audience and a really annoying old couple who huffed and puffed at the inconvenience of getting up to let people pass. Message to them don't sit at the end seats and expect not to be disturbed. Really rude of them.
Anyway onto the film. From the trailer I expected more of an oddball comedy. Instead it was a very run of the mill comedy. Not too rude or gross out just a very gentle and light comedy. Some farcical scenes and some that did not really work i.e. the Ming Vase escapade. Good cast but not used to the best. Colin Firth's character was hard to get behind as he just seemed to be a petulant child during it until the grand show at the end.
It was a perfectly harmless film for a Monday evening.
6.5/10
P.S. As for the farting I thought that was part of the film. I didn't smell anything to think other.

Re: Gambit
You guys make me laugh - the fart was in the film, did you not notice it coming from the woman in the hotel room Colin Firth had creeped in?

Re: Gambit
I did notice this but I'm 99% sure someone let one go in the cinema before the character in the film did. I was sitting right at the back and when I heard it a few heads in the 4/5 rows down turned.Beate wrote:You guys make me laugh - the fart was in the film, did you not notice it coming from the woman in the hotel room Colin Firth had creeped in?

Re: Gambit
Oh, was that what I thought was a really loud snort? (I had ear plugs in) Yes, heads did turn for that. Says volumes about the film if the audience have to provide the entertainment.

Re: Gambit
Obvious, basic & rather harmless comedy that I'm glad I didn't p*y for. Although parts did make me laugh I agree wholeheartedly that I'm not sure why Stanley Tucci was wasting his talents on this.
6/10
By the way it was definitely a very loud fart from the audience from a man who was two rows in front of me. Thank gosh it didn't smell because it was that loud I thought that if it did, there would have been a mass exodus!

It seems like there were quite a few of you there, and a few that haven't met any of us yet. Glad I didn't go, I had a fantastic time at the natural History Museum do
