The first one is a Pob (posh's bob) the second one is a Pixie style, personally i would go for the Pob first (like someone else said) to see if you like it, i remember when i cut my long hair into a rihanna style bob i hated it and wish i hadn't done it, but at least it didn't take that long to grow out but if you go for the extra short first you may regret it.

My fav one is the 1st one, i love bobs that are long at the front, that way, if your hair is longer now it won't freak you out as much as there is still something to play with, and will only take 5mins to blowdry.
For such a big change i would go with an artistic/style director, p*y the extra money first time cos after that you will just need trims at a different place/different hairdresser and cost less, but you will have the confidence to go in.
And like you said, if you dislike the first style, u can change styles later down the line.
They can easily copy from photos and as the style is popular you won't have anything to worry about :)
