i went with my mum to see this having seen the trailer and thought it looked kind of fun - i was not disappointed!

i think Beate's review pretty much sums it all up to be honest. It really was heartwarming without feeling sickly and it really is charming. plus who knew i'd almost be on the edge of my seat over a typewriter comp? ha!

I had a French double header last night (possibly the rudest thing I have ever typed??) - Populaire was charming if a little predictable followed by Therese Desqueyroux which was disappointingly slow and sadly a reminder that perhaps Audrey Tautou is perhaps maturing out of the Amelie / Priceless-esque films that I love. She's still fine by me though.

I think I might be insensitive to this French thing/je ne sais quoi you guys seem to enjoy. Found it rather dull, very predictable and way too long.

Loved it! Wasn't sure about going to see it, but a friend dragged me along and can honestly say it was one of the most charming films I have ever seen. Superb acting, great storyline and good characters.

Just wondering, if its at all like Mad Men? Never seen mad men, but if its similar to this, then I think I might give it a go...

Had been wanting to see this for ages but was short of time. Used a voucher to see it yesterday and loved it, as I'd hoped. Best film I've seen in ages (mind you, I'd not seen one at all for 5 weeks - awful withdrawal symptoms!) and was glad to see the performance quite well-attended despite the fact that the film must now be several weeks into its run.

I also thought the genre was captured/re-captured very cleverly - even the titles and music, though original, were bang-on.
