Re: Dragon
Just finished my full review: as I said before - great stuff. A very nice surprise considering I had no idea the film existed until Thursday.

Re: Dragon
My oh and I also liked the film. Good cinematography, well choreographed fighting scenes and funny in places. The plot did become a little bit daft towards the end, though. 7.5/10RAZORBACK wrote:It just didn't work for me:LondonCityNights wrote:That was the best bit! This is actually the closest I've got this year to awarding a 9/10 to a free film but as the main character makes a truly logic defying decision towards the end of this flick's running time it will just have to make do with an extremely solid 8/10 from me...
There was just too much at stake and there was nothing to indicate that the 'gesture' would appease the 72 Demons and prevent any further bloodshed.
Still a great film though & the best free one I've seen this year...

Re: Dragon
I'm with you on this I only went as Ikea is next door. It was a good film if you like that sort of film so 7/10 for that but for my enjoyment 3/10.wavell wrote:I think this is one strictly for the devotees of blood-curdling martial arts (hacked off ears, arms; throat cutting, etc) movies. Others should stay away, maybe. Wish I had! The plot, such as it was, seemed utterly irrelevant.

Re: Dragon
Didnt get anything to the movie..
Re: Dragon

Re: Dragon
good wuxia, but it is wuxia so if you aren't a fan of the genre then not for you.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?
Re: Dragon
Thanks for that, I now know the significance of the 'wuxia' in the title (it ain't a postcode then!). I think it's the swordsmanship aspect of the 'xia' that made it so unpleasant for me to watch. Then that's just me. I would love to see a Chinese film (subtitles and all), but without wuxia.raj101 wrote:good wuxia, but it is wuxia so if you aren't a fan of the genre then not for you.
