Re: Summer in February
Perfect for 2pm viewing on BBC 2, unacceptable cinema fare. So very dull.

I agree, very dull although OH was kept happy enough spending 90 minutes with Cousin Matthew.
As for me, anyone else wonder what horse soup tastes like?

If your OH liked it it will be right up my street. Plus I'm more than happy to spend time with Cousin Matthew.yogi wrote:I agree, very dull although OH was kept happy enough spending 90 minutes with Cousin Matthew.

The reviews aren't putting me off as Sunday evening television is the only time I switch it on.
Looking forward to watching it on Sunday.

Re: Summer in February
Dan Stevens really needs to do a project that doesn't take place in the early 1900s. But given that I've missed Cousin Matthew so, I did love that a bit.yogi wrote:I agree, very dull although OH was kept happy enough spending 90 minutes with Cousin Matthew.

Dominic Cooper was easily the best part about the entire thing. So talented, that man.
Rest of it was meh. It did feel cliche, but is hard to call it cliche because its meant to be true. How much of it actually was, does anyone know?

Ditto!canadian_turtle wrote:Suddenly regret freeing my Monday for this (I really can't recall why I wanted to see this in the first place)...
A meandering film, felt really long, where nothing really exciting happens . Emily Browning pouts reminds me of Gemma Arterton's pout (Tamara Drewe - Dominic Cooper was in that film too). Did not take to Emily's character at all, and is quite frustrating to watch. Quite disappointing. 2/10
Screening was half full, unusual for a Telegraph screening.
Lovely to see so many FMUKers tonight.. tsoiboy, ejwrank, kaybeelon, welcome back funthing and c_t, and thanks for the company caitlinmorton and the popchips!
The bit at the end telling you what happened to them?caitlinmorton wrote: Rest of it was meh. It did feel cliche, but is hard to call it cliche because its meant to be true. How much of it actually was, does anyone know?

Re: Summer in February
Terribly dull and filled with unsympathetic characters. Slept for the first 15 minutes and really regret waking up... Not sure what the point of it all was to be honest, just because it's based on true events that does not automatically make it worthy to be turned into a movie. Saved only slightly by the beautiful shots of wherever it is this was filmed. 3/10

Re: Summer in February
Just tried to book some last minute tickets for this for tomorrow morning but the code is saying invited guests only
Doesn't seem like the kind of screening that would be restricted.
However after reading some of the reviews I think I'd prefer a lie in!

After reading all the comments I think I'll give this one a miss.

I thought about this too but at 10.30am there isn't much choice...Beate wrote:I thought the film I saw tonight was absolutely excellent!
