Many would no doubt consider it cheesy, but... The Bodyguard. The late lamented Whitney at her power ballad best. And it's the best selling movie soundtrack of all time. 40 million plus people worldwide can't be wrong.

In 2nd place, and a bit more highbrow, anything by Vangelis, who has produced some fantastic movie soundtracks over the years, especially in the early 80's (think Chariots of Fire, Blade Runner, etc).

O Brother, Where Art Thou!
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"

A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

Grosse Pointe Blank. Brilliant sound track. If you've don't know it it's well worth a watch and listen.

Thanks Steve :) Not normally a great fan of John Cusack but I had a look at the trailer and it doesn't look bad tbh :D Will give it a go at some point!

Morricone's Dollars trilogy soundtracks would be top of my all-time list, played them a lot over the years, plus maybe something from Bernard Herrmann (Vertigo/North by Northwest/Psycho, etc). In recent years I've enjoyed Tron Legacy, Drive, Inception, The Artist and Frankenweenie. I tend to listen to soundtracks as much as anything else these days...

The 1996 Romeo and Juliet soundtrack is one of my all time faves especially Crush by Garbage and Talk Show Host by Radiohead

I also like all the Dark Knight Trilogy soundtracks , especially Jokers theme 'Why so Serious' , there's also Aggressive Expansion, Like A Dog Chasing Cars , Corynorhinus from Batman Begins also deserves a special mention

Recently I really liked the Drive soundtrack as mentioned in a previous post, Nightcall by Kavinsky and Lovefoxxx is a great track , I also really like A Real Hero by College which is probably my favourite track from it
