BBC iPlayer problems
Re: BBC iPlayer problems
Re: BBC iPlayer problems
Yes I sometimes have trouble with iplayer. I think it gets so many hits that it can get quite sluggish. Perhaps the BBC don't have enough bandwidth! Obviously not your connection as 4OD was working properly. My old router used to crash all the time with iplayer as well.
Try it later and see...

Instead of having it installed... why not just watch it online? Would that not be better and faster?

Re: BBC iPlayer problems
You're confusing me. Isn't that what the iplayer is? An online tool to watch certain BBC programmes? For the record, it's been slow for me lately too.
Re: BBC iPlayer problems
Actually just checked on the other programs and it is fine, the glitch is with the "That Mitchell and Webb Look"
Thing is I'm not a great tv watcher so I tried only the other channel on the programs I liked but never tried on other BBCs .
Can anyone check on their TMAWL to see if it's my computer or just the program? My God ...I'm hopeless with machines. I'm trying to learn sewing and I broke two machines now!!!

Re: BBC iPlayer problems
I think I know why, you are having the stuttering problem then. That Mitchell and Webb Look is only showing in HD on the Iplayer. Ie., the higher definition version. If your braodband speed 3mbs or less, it will struggle. However, you do have the option of downloading it first and then playing it back with the Iplayer desktop. To do this, simply click on "download HD 662b" in the bottom right hand corner. If it prompts you to download BBC Iplayer Desktop then click yes or accept and continue accepting all agreements etc.MariaLionza wrote:Actually just checked on the other programs and it is fine, the glitch is with the "That Mitchell and Webb Look"

You need to have your display resolution set to at least 1360 X 720 to view HD programs though, ideally 1920 X 1200.
On another note, if you think you should have higher speed than 3mbs, do a speed check by going to
http://www.speedtest.net
click on the correct location and wait for the test to finish and see what your final result is. Then to check if your are in a slow broadband connection area, type your post code on this website:
http://www.broadband-notspot.org.uk/coverage-map.html
Anyway, the BBC Iplayer download should solve your issue, just thought I give you extra info on your broadband in case you thought you were p*ying for higher broadband speeds than what you are getting! Hope that helps.
