This is so so sad. I've always loved boyzone and went to see them years ago and my daughter went this
year, What a tragic loss.
I didn't realise that he had a bad time "coming out" surely there can't still be a stigma attached to someones sexuality, I really don't get that mentality he was just a lovely person.

Yes this is so sad and much more of a shock than Michael Jackson, as he had of course been taking lots of tablets/drugs over the years.
SADS as NickyF was saying is much more common than we think and it must always be a shock for the poor families. There have been quite a few cases like these where young people suddenly died reported in the papers in recent months.
Unfortunately, when it is someone with a high profile like Stephen who has died there is always more speculation by the media as to the cause of death which must be so distressing for the family
RIP Stephen

I was really upset when I heard! As a teenager in the 90's my boyband of choice was Boyzone and I am not ashamed to say I think the number of concerts I went to was in the double figures....! I feel really sad now that I didn't go to the comeback tour! I think I felt the time had passed but now there will be no opportunity to see them as a 5 peice.
I absolutely hate the way the media started banging on about drugs, orgies, 8 hour pub crawls! (I have been on many an 8 hour pub crawl & come home very worse for wear - I don't think that I should have my personality/life judged on that basis though!) He always came across as a very sweet, clean living man (and even he wasn't - who cares's?) who had nothing but enthusiasm and appreciation for being a pop star, and I think it is truely sad!
And the next 'joke text' I receive regarding him will be getting a very rude response because I don't think the death of a young, normal bloke is anything to laugh about!

I too went to the concerts in the 1990's but not as a teenager, I remember reading the reviews saying it was full of teenage girls and women of an age old enough to know better (I was in the latter group). We will have lovely memories of him. The media can be cruel and who are they to judge anybody!
