Re: Club soda screenings
I would have thought that phunky had all that covered in her post? She said it is a surprise film "and it will not be a mainstream film so dont go if you only like blockbusters". She gave the website to check whether it's your thing. Sometimes looking before booking is a good idea.

Re: Club soda screenings
I like blockbusters and arthouse films, but I am just pointing out that the films they are showing tend to be very obscure.

Re: Club soda screenings
I was one of the 8 people that bothered to turn up for this one. It was in a very plush screening room at the Hospital Club. I'm glad it was not full as the front row consisted of giant beanbags!
The film was "unmade beds" which was about some young people living in a squat in east London and living a rather chaotic lifestyle. the main plot was about a young Spanish man searching for his English father and a young Belgian(?) woman looking for love.
The pace of this film was far too slow for my liking and did not match the pace of the music which was generally upbeat. Indeed, for me, the best thing about the film was the music which was from the likes of Mary and the Boy, Tindersticks and Black Moustache.
I'd give it 7/10 , with at least 1 of those points being for the music.

Re: Club soda screenings
I hope to go next time they do a screening. Glad it was Unmade beds, I did have a look at their website and that would have been the only film I wanted to see.

Re: Club soda screenings
Strangely, I did not get this e-mail but my OH did (in fact he got 2 copies of the invite)- I wonder if they are picking and choosing who they invite.
I wonder if people would just be able to e-mail for tickets. Club soda is something that people had to register for and the instructions are to reply to the invitation.
