i agree with jayman, its a great movie for a b-movie. though it has slacked ib its appeal from its origins

To be fair, while I didn't like this movie, it did exceed my (admittedly very low) expectations. Just wish the CGI was a little less hit and miss. There were parts where it was brilliant, like the puppy friend, and parts where it really was not (they don't come to mind but there were a few moments that made me cringe).

Vin Diesel would make Shakespeare sound clunky, with this script he explores new depths.

Sci Fi done on the cheap can be charming...can be....not here.

2/10

bonus point for the most inappropriate female full frontal nudity i have seen in a long time....the teen boys sat on my row suddenly fell quiet !

Personally I enjoyed the movie, putting aside the fact that I am a big Riddick fan. I felt like it complimented the previous movies being the second sequel, even though the storyline wasn't what I expected. It could have been better in that sense, but factors like comedy, action and drama were definitely thoroughly explored. Vin diesel showed off his usual badassery, coolness and witty remarks. Overall it was a good movie, I’m giving it a 7/10.

I saw this at Vue West End thanks to caitlinmorton. It was good to meet tsoiboy and co plus the usual suspects. :D

As for the film it was sooooooo bad, annoyingly bad because I wanted it to be better! I really liked Pitch Black and thought this film would be of similar ilk but it was just a wannabe. It tried, failed an farted.

I spotted the singer Keri Hilson. Not sure why she decided to act in this film but I guess you've got to start somewhere right?

I actually thought this was pretty solid, I will admit that I much preferred the first section of the movie (during which Riddick was alone on the planet) but what followed, which was little more than an attempt to deliver 'Pitch Black - Part II', was still pretty entertaining.

I don't think this will grow on me in the same way 'The Chronicles Of Riddick' did (I thought it was very disappointing at first but now slightly prefer it to 'Pitch Black') but it certainly did enough to warrant getting a 7/10 from me...

first B movie I seen in IMAX was just a load of macho dumb fun. felt like a plot of a dungeons and dragons type game that we played when we were kids.

Would have preferred a cold cliffhanger ending just ten minutes short of the one they settled for, to contrast with Pitch Black (and justifiably warranted a sequel).

Thanks to ritamistry for sharing her private screening win! We all had a lovely evening.

The Dolby Europe offices had a lovely reception area where we were told we could help ourselves to the drinks and popcorn and chocolates. The screening room was very luxurious, so understandably no food or drinks allowed in, but we were told the reason being was that there was going to be a media screening the next day and there would be no cleaners to clean up in time for it. Fair enough!

I have to agree this film was dire! It was so long, diabolical and comical, and the story so naff. And so many plot holes. If you like Vin Diesel and is a fan, then you would absolutely love it. if you like mindless entertainment you would love this too. It is a lot of action, fighting, killing, and blood! The surround sound was good though! My Mexican friends they told me afterwards the Spanish spoken in the film was extremely vulgar!

2/10 film, 10/10 for the pre-drinks and nibbles, reception and screening room and the lovely company of friends!

Jayman wrote:It wasn't great but it wasn't the abortion everyone's making it out to be.
If anything, it has Vin Diesel in super-fine form; confident, charismatic and uber-cool.

If you go in expecting a B-movie, you'll be very pleasantly surprised.

6/10
Very much agree with this view. We saw it yesterday at the plush Dolby Europe offices too. Went in with no expectations and both of us thoroughly enjoyed it for what it was.
