well I did manage this again, and in 3d despite only having 2D vouchers with some clever in-screen maneuvering. I gave it another chance because I snored through some of my 2d viewing of it previously.
OK, so I did miss a few plot elements last time which helped make more sense of the movie, but (and I don't know whther this is the fault of the cinema or the movie) the film is irritatingly loud, not immensely loud but crackly and horrible in your ears during the action scenes.
not quite as bad as I thought but still just barely manageable. 5/10

I hope EE don't find out about that because they p*y a fortune and demand their advert is the last thing to show before the BBFC card.caitlinmorton wrote:Funny story, I didn't get the EE advert before this film. I wonder if they don't do it in front of Kevin Bacon films or if it was just a fluke?

Re: R.I.P.D.
Watched a day after release. Decided to splash out on the costly price of 3D, and am really pleased I did!
Really enjoyed from start to finish, thought it was like a comedic version of MiB, only with Kevin "EE" Bacon, Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges. CGI was admittedly too heavy, but revealing Ryan Reynolds looked like an old Chinese guy made up for it.
Overall 8/10

Quite poor, but it was one way to spend a wet, miserable afternoon in Autumn. Pity I hadn't thought of something else to see, but it was my friend's turn to choose the film. I 'm glad it's my turn next.
4/10 from me

I didn't actually find it that bad but didn't go with high expectations. I'd say 6.5/10.
