Craperdero was really crappy as usual, I had a splitting headache, so was a bit grumpy to begin with.

I really wanted to appreciate this film, the cast was excellent, the cinematography was interesting but, boy was this slow :snooze:

Dreary depressing stuff interspersed with horrible violence, I was hiding most of the time. I stuck it out for an hour, but needed the loo, and couldn't be bothered to come back for the rest of the film 4/10
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

Bloody hell this was dull. Literally the only thing I will take away from it is that Forest Whitaker does a terrible Batman impression.

Oh yeah, West India Quay screwed up the aspect ratio (the projector was setup for 1.85:1 rather than 2.35:1) so there were black bars on all the sides of the screen. I bolted out within the first 3 minutes and tracked down the manager. He followed me back into the theatre, inspected the image and to my horror assured me that it was meant to be that way. I begged, begged and begged him some more to have a second look and thank the good lord, he adjusted it accordingly. Not sure anybody noticed though...

Quite, and they were both wasted in this.

Poor story with some reasonable acting, but the only at all memorable character was that played by Woody Harrelson. Speaking of whom, I may not be that tolerant of noisy cinema audiences but just remind me not to go and see a film with him!

Wasn't as good as I hoped it would be, I hoped for more based on the cast, at the end as a few people said I thought 'was that it'. A couple walked out in Bristol screening, I didn't hate it but I can't imagine any scenario where I would watch it again.

I thought it was pretty clear that they were a couple. She started dating him when Christian Bale's character was in prison and it is assumed he is the father of her baby.

Back from Glasgow.

This film had so much potential with a great cast. Bale, Harrelson, Saldana, Dafoe, Whitaker yet fails to ignite. Russell really has the worst luck
Works hard yet has to bale his brother. Ends up in prison and his father dies whilst he is there.
I found it a bit of a wee casting to put Harrelson as the baddest dude when you have Dafoe but that is probably just me. And am we suppose to get the imagery between the deer hunting and what happens to his brother?

It only really got good for me when the tension built in the last ten minute. Then it got silly. 5/10

It appears I had a badly timed "comfort break"

What, you too? Never knew about a baby but OH needed the loo just as Saldana and Bale were talking after he came out of prison.

Bale out for revenge was laughable, a bumbling idiot who crashes about trying to catch a gangster. And he's a terrible shot to boot. They bill this a thriller? What was thrilling about it?
Totally agree with Beate! . . .and the others who gave similar views, including "what was that?" at the end.
I was very disappointed in the film and was not moved to feel sympathy with anyone . . . I didn't care who died! :X
I'm certainly glad it was free!
