Back from seeing this tonight. Started with the times screening banner being displayed making me think it was the wrong screening. During the movie some idiot had his phone ring behind me - TWICE - this is despite security telling everyone to turn their phones off.
The movie itself I give 7/10

Excellent - a little slow to get going but ultimately very good - even the mrs enjoyed it bar the throat slitting scene. Solid 8/10.
Very full manchester showing with the usual late arrivals to annoy me

I enjoyed the film good twists/turns, a bit long but kept me waching. The ending??? will have to google for the correct one.

Tell us in a spoiler? Wanna know.
Also Edinburgh spoiled by a ? security guy sitting at the very front, and kept getting up and walking around every five minutes.

You should have got into the role, grabbed him by the head, smashed it against the wall and said 'sit the f@ck down. Now.'

We had a security guy up beside us, he didn't have a seat so they kept switching! They had an infra-red goggle/camera thing? I asked him what he was doing and he said to make sure nobody was recording the film then asked me how long the film was. They were quite distracting!
Preferred cinemas: Any in Edinburgh!

At Islington Vue we were informed by security that this was a long film, and if we had to use our mobiles to go outside. I think every single seat was taken.
I thought it started well, very gripping, and then the last half an hour went into a bit of a farce and seemed implausible, when "Doogie Howser" appeared, I think that is why a lot of the audience went into fits of laughter! I felt it went downhill from there, as if the author got bored with the story and did not know where to take it or how to end it. So disappointed with the ending, but what a psychopath! 7/10

Hmmm! Bloody Vue. They had me leave 40 minutes into a film once when there hadn't been enough seats and I had been standing leaning against a wall, so no fire/trip hazard etc. One rule for them and one for us then.

I was gripped throughout and really enjoyed this. Yes, there were significant plot flaws, but no more than in your average Hollywood thriller. And they seemed to have made an effort with it, the flaws seeming to be due to necessary plot development rather than the sheer laziness seemingly the case in some. Perhaps it was this that meant that I did not mind them as much as I usually do, or more likely it was just that there was so much else to think about.

Quite. It was mainly the ending that people found funny at our screening, not what Fincher was going for I'm sure. I can't say I understood that either. I do understand that some people find endings like that unsatisfying but I actually like them and thought that far more chilling and unsettling than a more obvious one. I also found the obvious surprise strange both as it was
at the start of the film and also that it had been heading that way ever since the pregnancy.
It made me want to read the book.
