So excited for this! Need December to hurry up - such a long wait!

Im a big star wars fan & this looks awesome but December is a long wait.

I was at the Empire IMAX too. Tickets and ID checked first, then wristbands given, before they let us queue along the barriers that went up and down, and finally when the doors opened at 5pm, and we got near the entrance, SFF reps took our print outs in exchange for proper glossy tickets. No goody bags, just a poster and a bottle of water on the seats and on the way out we were given a Star Wars badge.

Warwick Davis did the intro and joked now we knew how he feels when he stands in front of his 50" TV! There was a quiz but only for people whose seats had a star underneath them which he said he placed before we were let in, so those people went down to the stage and answered a question, and whether you got it right or wrong, they all got a prize! Then the ones in costumes were called on the stage, they had picked them out in the queue earlier, they were interviewed and we had to clap the loudest for the one who we wanted to win. Of course, a little boy as Darth Vader won, he even had the rasping voice! A great win too, a signed poster. All the other costumes all got smaller prizes.

Then the interviews with J J Abrams, director and Kathleen Kennedy, producer, beamed life from California, then interviews with the new cast and then Mark Hammill, Carrie Fisher (who both looked really old, and hardly recognisable, unlike Harrison Ford who still looks like he does as Han Solo or Indiana Jones), and Chewwy's actor and C3PO's actor who was in all the Star Wars films and will be in the new one, all came on to the stage.

Finally, we were shown the two minute trailer, twice. It was amazing on the IMAX screen. Someone was taping it on their phone - but you can watch it again on youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCc2v7izk8w

Tickets b*ght for opening weekend I'm attending the Star Wars convention this weekend! And my fancy dress (well just a mask to be honest) is ready to go....

Please can I have opinions on whether to see star wars in both 3D and Imax? Is it worth the extra money spent? Thank you.

I'm seeing this in standard format on Friday. If I had to choose one or the other I would go with IMAX over 3D.

I think that most of the IMAX screenings are in 3D and I would suggest that would be the way to see it rather than in some small box like auditorium.

If you want an IMAX experience without the cost, just sit near the screen.
