Well I enjoyed it. I haven't seen a preview for a while so I maybe had a bit more good will to it than normal.

It's baggy at times and like a lot of modern comedies it has a basic, contrived set up and probably more improv than script, but I laughed a lot, a lot more than the similar Bad Neighbours and there were lots of laughs in our screening.

I'm also a big fan of the leads and Amy Poehler was very good, maybe Tina Fey less so, not really convinced about her as a party mom.

And nice to see Dianne Wiest on the big screen again, though she's not given much to do. Overall 7/10

Have you ever seen the TV show Life in Pieces? She and James Brolin play husband and wife in that too, almost identically in fact.

James Brolin? What was the point of him? The father character could have been played by anyone.
The fat guy who wandered around in his underpants the whole time - I barely understood a single word he uttered. Must be some sort of transatlantic humour bypass.

I was surprised at the film classification certificate at the start saying strong sex and strong sexual content. I never noticed any! It was as much lacking that as it was lacking humour.

In that case, best you avoid Saturday Night Live. That's Bobby Moynihan. He does that kind of shtick on a weekly basis.

Seems like I might be the only one that thought this was quite funny. Granted it wasn't an amazing script or brilliant acting, but it was good to get out of the rain and forgot about the dross in the world for a bit.
Some interesting characters and cringe-worthy moments but not too bad overall.

Although I should caveat that by saying that I don't think I would have pa*d to see this.

I hadn't heard of that, just looked it up and it looks a bit like Parenthood. Is it available somewhere over here, Sky, Netflix etc?

I must have a very different sense of humour - we found this hilarious - just what we needed to cheer us up on this wet and windy night

I'm behind the times, I didn't know who Any was and only seen Tina in 1 or 2 things. The only person I did recognize was the one who starred in Bridesmaids, can't remember her name though.

So I'm with alythonian on this one. I did laugh a few times but it was rather odd. 4/10

Actually quite enjoyed it as a switch your mind off kind of entertainment. Second half seemed better but may have been as the continual soundtrack in my right ear of rustle crunch from the man who ate his way through three family sized bags of crisps without stopping for 50 mins .Sadly I timed him
