I am sure a lot of people will hate this film, but we loved it.
Yes, it is self-consciously stylised, but it's great style - the Scorsese tracking shot is wonderful.
Yes, it is doused in cynicism, but there is nothing new there - they'd happily have fitted into Chinatown and Altman's Long Goodbye.
And they do have a code of honour. It's only the bad guys that get shaken down.
It is as if The Nice Guys meet The Seven Psycopaths, while channeling Pinky & The Brain.
If you are in the right mood, it works.
