You didn't think much of it, did you? But the reviews/rating on IMDB are still good enough for me to give it a go, and better than for other films I've liked, so I'm hopeful.

No I didn't. I didn't think it was great. Still, I gave it 6/10 which was pretty generous of me!!! Public Enemies also had a similar good rating on imdb for it prior to its screening and I didn't enjoy that either.

This was like a channel 5 3.30pm movie for me! I would still like you guys to see it to see who actually does enjoy this and why. It is a watchable film but not something I would recommend to watch at the cinema (pa*d/unpaid) or go to see myself.

Beate just text me to say they didnt have the film at WIQ but theyve let her see time travellers wife instead
I suspect its just there because WIQ wasnt on the original list and then got added and they probably forgot about this extra screening

Adventureland was a very good film, quite funny and with believable characters.

Well that's what I might have said if I had got to see it! When I got there (no one downstairs to check printouts) the OH was already sat in the cinema so I went to the loo and b*ght an overpriced hotdog, and when I came back there were loads of people outside and a manager telling everybody that the film was not here and there wouldn't be another screening but we could all see any other film for free so would we please follow him downstairs to the tills. The only problem was that I couldn't find the OH until an usherette located him still sitting inside, faithfully waiting for me, LOL! So we joined the big queue and debated what to see. "No, seen that... no, seen that.... no, seen that.... what about Harry Potter, oh that's only on at 8.30, hey let's see G-Force at 7pm! Oh hang on, there is the Time Traveller's Wife but it started at 6!" By this time it was 6.20pm but the guy at the till said it had only just started that minute so we rushed upstairs again, fell over a few people's feet in the dark and had only just missed the car crash at the beginning. Review to follow in the appropriate thread!

So does that mean I have to use some of my cinema vouchers to see Aventureland?

No such last-minute drama at Crawley though we were kept waiting in the foyer until 6.15 pm, which is most unusual - normally we can go in by 6 pm or earlier. I thought this was a pleasant, if undistinguished teen movie and an enjoyable way to pass a couple of hours. Interesting to see Ryan Reynolds playing a very different type to his character in "The Proposal", which of course is still showing widely. My only quibble was with the ending, as it seemed to drag on a bit or to be about to end, only to carry on again. Really it could have ended at several different points in the last, say, 15 minutes, without making much difference to the whole. 7/10 from me.

I saw it at Castleford with the Selby Crew, and as soon as it started I has haunted by the thought that the main character was a young Alan Davis. The resemblance is so striking that it could be a clone.
