Is anyone going to this at Islington tonight or are you all defecting to the A-Team now?

What mental torture it must be having a choice! Perhaps we bumpkins aren't so badly off after all in some respects?

We are thoroughly spoilt in London.

I am heading to Islington Vue (local to me) to see City Island. The Guardian's feature with Andy Garcia gave me a bit of hope for this.

As you know, cos I sat next to you, I was in Islington. :p

I liked this film. Found it funny! I hadn't read up on it, so no idea what to expect.

Loved it. Admittedly, it started a bit slow, but boy is Andy Garcia good. And I have to look up the actor who played Tony, he reminded me of Josh Brolin, but in a handsomer way, if that makes sense. Very quirky and so much better than the recent attempt at a dysfunctional family, Lymelife. Packed a thorougly pleasing strong emotional punch at the end, and Andy Garcia really deserves to be in a Scorcese movie, LOL.

8/10

Just seen this at a quite empty Croydon cinema. I guess people went to see the a-team!
I was pleasantly surprised as it was quite good!
It was funny and heartwarming! 7.5/10

I need to check, but surely Alan Arkin wasn't the only connection between this film and Little Miss Sunshine.

I really liked it. Dark comedy, but up-beat. Arkin was totally under used, but I can understand why. It was definitely an interesting story and I'm glad the resisted the half-sibling hook-up. I'm not too sure about the son's story though. I found it as disturbing as I found the beauty pageant in L M Sunshine, but with less of a point other than that being his secret.

Loved it! :P Loved it! :p That was good! Was watching with a smile on my face! I knew what it was about from the interview with Andy Garcia I've seen on TV. He gave quite a few things away... but it didn't spoil it for me.
I dont' know if that was intended that way - it was a feel good movie for me o/ .
9 out of 10 at least!
