I can't believe more people haven't voted for Toy Story 3, laughter, tears, excitement - it had everything.
It gets a bit predictable saying it every year, but Pixar can do no wrong.

I'd also have to put Kick Ass up there - didn't really know what to expect, but it was so much fun. Easily my comic book movie of the year.
(Although I haven't seen Iron Man 2, but have seen Scott Pilgrim)

Honourable mentions too for The Princess and The Frog and Up in the Air.

Much like yourself, having seen Inception on a normal screen I was very keen and determined to watch it in IMAX. I managed to convince a friend to see it at the IMAX in Odeon Manchester Printworks, which I believe is one of the largest screens in the UK. It was definitely worth it because the effects were just mind-blowing! I would highly recommend it!

I'm going back to the Odeon Manchester Printworks on Saturday morning but this time to see Avatar IMAX 3D Special Edition :)

I liked Hot Tub Time Machine too but I don't think the story and humour was as hilarious as it was in Kick-Ass!

Inception. I've seen it twice for free and have pa*d to see it on the IMAX Sunday. Just one of the best films of any year.

I have to say, as much as I love Pixar, I really don't get all the pants spraying over Toy Story 3. It looks beautiful and is a fun flick, but it really wasn't any kind of earth shattering story. I don't get to over emotionality to it, either. And I loved toys (still do).

2nd and 3rd would go to Kick-Ass and Scott Pilgrim... not exactly sure it which order. It'll probably take additonal viewings of both to pick a clear winner, but Scott Pilgrim is one of the most fun films I've seen in a long, long time. And Kick-Ass was one of the funniest.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.
