Cheap train fares have been released for the journey to Manchester from up north ie Edinburgh, Newcastle and Durham for the early morning trains. The last one going back at £16 to Edinburgh is at 18:16 and that seems to be always the case but the 06:52 does go down to £13 but the cheapest for the 06:15 is always £16 basically get booking the return leg asap (that's for the Edinburgh lot but book both if you want to get the 06:15) otherwise it shoots up quite quickly and mega money Durham lady needs to get booking the journey to Manchester as at £14 now and the return leg is £20 Newcastle people also need to get booking the journey to Manchester.

Nottingham, Birmingham, Liverpool and London still waiting for the fares to come down - just letting you know in case you think I have forgotten about you all in favour of the northerners

The London ones have just been released for the homeward journey on the Saturday evening but still waiting for the cheap ones to Manchester to be released.

It's getting better by the minute

On a sad note I have been onto Granada studios quite a few times today even onto the head office in London re the Coronation Street Tour and they don't think it will be ready for April - I explained that we have a group of very important people coming to Manchester for the day so they said that I just need to keep phoning up just in case. They said it was unlikely but not a definite no so if you give me hope I'll work on that. I'll keep phoning each week and be a pest (no change there ).

On another more cheerful note. My friend who is not a football fan went to the football museum and said it was a very enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours plus its free. They have a sort of cross between an escalator and a lift inside almost like a funicular so maybe worth a visit - That teaches me to scoff at a football museum

The return journey from Nottingham has just been released for £8 and there is one for £5 but gets you back to Nottingham in the early hours

I haven't forgotten about Liverpool, Birmingham or Nottingham just waiting for the fares to come down. Birmingham seems to be the slowest as they have only just released the £7 for the Saturday before but Liverpool and Nottingham is looking imminent

I am all sorted now, redspottedhanky released some cheap fares from London for Friday morning last night, so with the codes my return fare is £20.50! Yipee! Phew! They seem to be updating their website continually. I daren't look again, in case there is a better fare! But at least I am not p*ying their silly normal prices!
